We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Tyann Marie. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Tyann below.
Tyann, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today One of the things we most admire about small businesses is their ability to diverge from the corporate/industry standard. Is there something that you or your brand do that differs from the industry standard? We’d love to hear about it as well as any stories you might have that illustrate how or why this difference matters.
Bottles Babes Mobile Bartending Company is a company that offers high-end bar and bottle service. We noticed in 2021 that promoters and event planners within the DFW area would throw events and parties but would be missing the main aspect which is enticing the crowd and providing quality service. Speaking and engaging with them we learned that they wanted to create a richness of fun and celebration that included night life. What sets Bottle Babes apart is that we work hand and hand to create that experience. We offer speciality unique cocktails menus thats tailored to the venue and that refelects our expertises. We collaborate with local breweries, wineries, or distilleries to showcase unique beverages. We also ensure our staff is well-trained, friendly and professional by offering bottle service training and mixology classes. What also separate us in this industry is that after our staff is trained they are able to obtain a job in the night life services.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’ve always had the dream and goal of being a successful entrepreneur. I started my journey of entrepreneurship in 2013. I became a self taught mua and seamstress. Beauty and fashion has always been my passion but eventually it began to feel like a job instead of an hobby. While pursuing my beauty career I was cocktail waitressing for bars and restaurants. I knew I loved making money and partying so it was a win-win experience for me. I began networking and growing my connections while still operating a five figure spa. Eventually, the spa began to take a toll on my mental. I took a sabbatical from my spa and started working on my new project which was a mobile bartending company. While cocktail waitressing I met a really great friend named Tia Hedman. Tia already had a company where she would offer bottle girl services for events. I did a couple of events for her and knew that the company had a lot of potential to grow. After one year of building Bottle Babes with Tia we were successfully partnered with restaurants, bar and corporate offices.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
With every business comes trials and tribulation but for me the trials and errors were non-stop due to me being kindhearted and learning the business as I go. The biggest lesson that I had to learn is you can only help others that want’s to be successful. In my earlier years of becoming an entrepreneur I would not put anything in black and white especially since I knew I was helping people that were close to me. Not doing that screwed me over in many ways. As a business owner you have to learn how to separate business and personal relationships from each other and that’s something that I struggled with because I love to see everyone around me winning. It took almost losing my spa for me to notice that regardless of your relationship with someone when it comes to money and rules everyone plays by their own playbook unless their bind to a contract. Now, I put everything in a contract. I also learned that you can be kind and an asset to someone else without having to over give, overshare, and being over generous. I meet people where they meet me.

Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
My favorite book to read over and over is The Four Agreements. That book has been so helpful in so many ways. Reading that booked shifted my mindset as an entrepreneur in management because it helps me understand how people operate differently and to always develop myself to be a better person mentally and physically.
