We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Ty Rowton. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Ty below.
Ty, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Has your work ever been misunderstood or mischaracterized?
A video went viral of my getting knocked out at Arrowhead stadium a year ago. I subsequently was banned for life from going to Chiefs games at Arrowhead Stadium. I’ve had an alcohol and drug addictions that I’ve battled for many years and have made many mistakes. After this occurrence though Chiefs fans came out of woodworks starting vicious stories about me. After 30 plus years as a Superfan I have basically walked away from it after horrible experience. At first I felt so betrayed that the team I had given my heart and soul to most of my life would turn their back on me. God has me on a new life journey. I’m writing a book about my crazy experiences. Also I am eventually going to seminary School to become a Pastor. After I got to see Chiefs win Super Bowl I honestly had nothing more to accomplish. I was inducted into Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2003. In 2007 I set a world record for watching 70 straight hours of football. In 2013 and 2014 I helped lead campaigns that brought 2 Guiness World Records for crowd noise. I also have ran a charity organization for 20 years. Our biggest accomplishment was taking over 600 kids with major illnesses or disabilities and their families to Chiefs games.

Ty, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m known as Chiefs Superfan XFactor, one of most recognizable fans in NFL. I made 342 straight games at Arrowhead stadium and 105 away games over a 30 year plus career as a Superfan. I graced almost every newspaper in America, many magazines and thousands of times on TV. My greatest accomplishments were all charity work I’ve done locally and nationally.
Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
I wish I would have hired social media staff to help build my brand. I ended up doing it all on my own and didn’t maximize my brand
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Being so well known brings on a lot of jealousy. I was able to withstand 30 years of hate and lies fans would spread about me
