We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Ty Lewis, of Perfect Peace Puzzles. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Ty below.
Ty, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s jump right into how you came up with the idea?
I started Perfect Peace Puzzles in 2022 after losing both of my parents. It was one of the hardest times in my life. In the middle of all the grief and uncertainty, I found myself turning to puzzles, not just to pass time, but because they gave me a sense of calm and focus when everything else felt out of control. Sitting down with a puzzle helped me breathe, reset, and process what I was feeling in a quiet, manageable way.
That experience planted a seed. I kept thinking, If puzzling is helping me through this, maybe it could help other people too. I started imagining what it would look like to take the landscape photographs I had taken over the years and create puzzles that weren’t just beautiful, but intentionally designed to offer moments of peace, mindfulness, and self-care.
I knew I could bring this idea to life because I understood the need behind it. These days, so many of us are carrying grief, stress, and burnout. Sometimes, the smallest, most meaningful things are what help us pause and breathe.
Perfect Peace Puzzles has become a space where I blend purpose, creativity, and healing. It started from a deeply personal place, but it’s now something that gives others the chance to slow down, breathe, and reset.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m Ty Lewis, Chief Experience Officer of Perfect Peace Puzzles, a jigsaw puzzle company I launched in 2022 after the loss of both of my parents. In the midst of deep grief, puzzling became my outlet, a quiet, healing ritual that helped me process loss and find small moments of peace. Over time, I realized I could share that experience with others.
Perfect Peace Puzzles offers beautifully crafted puzzles designed to help people pause, reset, and embrace mindfulness. Most of the images featured are my own photography, peaceful landscapes I captured during my travels. Each puzzle is created with intention, offering not just a relaxing activity, but an invitation to slow down.
Our customers range from those navigating grief, stress, or burnout to people simply seeking moments of calm in their daily lives. We also share weekly Puzzle & Pause Wednesday reminders on social media to encourage people to take just 15 minutes for themselves.
What sets us apart is our purpose: this isn’t just about puzzles, it’s about creating space for restoration. At the heart of our brand is the belief that peace is possible, even in pieces.

Are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
There is so much I wish I had known earlier in my creative and entrepreneurial journey. When I started Perfect Peace Puzzles, I was navigating nearly every aspect of the business, product sourcing, shipping logistics, pricing, marketing, and brand building, all while balancing the responsibilities of my full-time career. Starting a business is a major undertaking. It is not for the faint of heart. As the business has grown, I have encountered new challenges, like tariffs and shifting costs, that you do not always anticipate. Each experience has taught me something valuable and helped me streamline operations and avoid early mistakes.
One important lesson I continue to learn is the difference between working in the business and working on the business. It is easy to stay caught up in the day to day, but I am learning how to step back and make room for growth and strategy.
I also wish I had leaned into community earlier. Connecting with other entrepreneurs and purpose driven makers has been a game changer. Those conversations offer encouragement, clarity, and a reminder that you are not alone. Grief kept me isolated for a long time. More recently, I have lost several family members and friends after the pandemic. I needed time to heal, but I am now connecting with fellow creatives and business owners who help me stay inspired and supported.
This journey has taught me a lot, and I am still learning and unlearning every step of the way.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
One of the most rewarding parts of being a creative behind Perfect Peace Puzzles is curating meaningful experiences through imagery. Our best-selling puzzle, “Pathway Forward,” taken in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, became a best seller because customers saw it as a metaphor for life’s journey, uncertain, yet full of hope.
I’m also deeply moved by the stories behind our custom puzzles. A family once sent me photos of their 93-year-old father, who has Alzheimer’s, working on a puzzle I created for their family reunion photo. He recognized his last name on it, this powerful moment reminded me of my own father’s journey with dementia.
Another rewarding highlight was when I reached out to actress and activist Yvette Nicole Brown. I sent her our “Pink Bloom” puzzle, and she later invited me to join her IG Live to talk about my business. I eventually created a custom puzzle of her and her then-fiancé, now husband, Tony. Her support helped introduce Perfect Peace Puzzles to a wider audience, and I’ll always be grateful.
Our newest puzzle, “Affirm Me,” is also selling very well. It came from a vision I received during my devotion with God of a tree with 33 powerful “I AM” statements. That puzzle holds a special place in my heart, and it’s been inspiring for many of our customers.
These are the moments that make the creative journey meaningful, when art meets purpose and connection.
