Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Ty Herman . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Ty, thanks for joining us today. What did your parents do right and how has that impacted you in your life and career?
I’d say setting great examples for me growing up in working hard and not giving up. As I grew up, they had a strong work ethic which got passed down to me through watching them and having their support.
Ty, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Ty, I am a Certified Health Coach and trainer and also have a bachelors degree in Health Science. I do my coaching online through a free app. The app is user friendly and lets you send questions you have through a chat feature anytime. I build personalized health programs for my clients. We discuss their health goals and exercise habits as well as nutrition. I have clients who are starting from the very beginning and therefore I will make their exercises more basic and build upon that. I give nutritional guidance and make suggestions on swapping some food items. The app also has recipe ideas I can send you or that you can swap for if you’re running short on time and need something quick.
I also check in weekly with you to help you stay on track and overcome any barriers you may be having and provide accountability! My services include:
Online coaching— allows clients to be ANYWHERE
1:1 coaching consultation
Nutrition guidance/ideas
Goal setting
Personalized workout plan for the individual (home workouts OR gym workouts)
Accountability check ins
Access to message me any questions through the app anytime
Modifications to exercises
Exercise library that will visually show you how to perform exercises
If you could go back, would you choose the same profession, specialty, etc.?
YES, I love coaching and watching my clients achieve their health/fitness goals. There are always new things coming up in the health industry and I enjoy reading about them and continuing my education to help myself grow.
Other than training/knowledge, what do you think is most helpful for succeeding in your field?
Definitely being able to relate to your clients and building that trust. When your clients open up and trust you, it’s easier for you to coach them on things to change or swap out. You have to really dig deep with some and get down to the nitty gritty!
