Ty, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you talk to us about your team building process? How did you recruit and train your team and knowing what you know now would you have done anything differently?

My business started with a few cousins of mine and we had to play every employee then. I appreciate that too because it showed us how to be hands on with everything from A to Z. Today our team is growing with our business so the bigger our brand gets the bigger our team gets.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

I got into the fashion industry by simply creating outfits for myself mostly from scratch. I eventually learned how to cut and sew more unique designs and the buzz kept growing. Not only do we provide the best quality clothing and accessories as well as the flyest, we host the livest fashion shows each year. Come be the judge this December 17th! So far I’m mostly proud of our growth because we honestly started with nothing but an idea and a purpose. I want each client, follower, and fan to appreciate the art we are creating for its true value because everything has a meaning.

How’d you meet your business partner?

I’ve been knowing my cofounders all my life. Literally since we came out of the wound we’ve been together so it’s basically a family business we started.

How’d you think through whether to sell directly on your own site or through a platform like Amazon, Etsy, Cratejoy, etc.

199Scrilla.com is our website platform. Pros of having a website is of course the money opportunities but also it can be a one stop shop for anything you want to promote. Cons would probably be the maintenance for sure, but especially if you want the site to be unique.
