Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to TV ShoweZ. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
TV ShoweZ, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
I dropped my debut album “Rage On! No Rest for the Wicked” in May 2023. This project was highly anticipated and in my opinion was way over due. since I started making music I had put out quality work and visuals and I had yet to provide a full experience for my fans. There was so much that went into this project from traveling and recording in different studios to the hours of mixing and mastering and it took maybe over 8 months from the time I recorded the first single “Rockstar” to the release date.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am an artist, and creative out of Cincinnati, Ohio. While music and arts runs deep through my family genes on both sides, I stumbled upon my relationship my with music. I always had an ear for good tunes and had a deep connection with certain artists and projects but I never knew I had any music ability outside of playing saxophone in band throughout middle school. I grew up so afraid of public speaking, singing and doing anything in front of a crowd of people. I never seen myself wanted to take a path with music at all. I was always gifted with visual arts and crafty talents but before college i never really put those talents to use because i never seen how it could benefit me or I just didn’t have confidence in my self to take my talents seriously.
I was eventually lead to make music through sports. I recorded my first song in a college dorm closet and I had no clue about songwriting, formulating melodies or the laws of music. My path to music was in my opinion completely by chance (although I feel like i still would have discovered it eventually). Unrelated and somewhat unfortunate events led me to this creative passion. I was cut from my DIII football team the final game of the season due to failing grades and attendance. I was going through a period of uncertainty and not really knowing what I wanted to do with my life. (Just like so many other kids at that age) I had been going to a private college in a rural Marietta, Ohio with few friends and no real direction for my life. Once the second semester came around I brought my grades up and was really searching for my next step. One day a fellow student of mine told me that he had set up a studio in his room and invited me to come and make my first song. I thought it was a ridiculous idea and was honestly scared to even try but I was curious about the process of making music and just wanted to try it out and see what happened. The first song i made was bad. Super cringey, but it felt GOOD and it was an indescribable feeling that it gave me. My peers hyped me up and told me i had real potential and that was all i needed to keep going. From that moment forward I became more and more infatuated with making songs and when I came home from school I sought out to record in a real professional studio. I kept networking, evolving and every song kept getting better and better and it felt like I was on the right path and God kept giving me signs and putting people in my path that aligned with my new found love for making music. It just seemed like I had finally found my purpose and I finally found something that I was passionate about.
I have a lot of things to be proud of when it come to my journey as an artist. I have been blessing with an awesome team, I’ve had opportunities to perform at some of the biggest stages in my home town and I have put out quality work that I take pride in and that has been respected and recognized by my fans and other artists i look up to. With all of that being said, what I am most proud of in my journey is that I haven’t given up and everything I’ve accomplished up to this point has been done with no label, huge budget or industry support or co-sign.. I went through a period of time where I felt that my talents were being over looked and underappreciated by the artist community that I was in. I never let that stop me. I always had real support and good friends in my corner to cheer me on when I had hard times believing in myself. Now i look back I’ve outlasted and stayed more consistent than a lot of those who overlooked me and this year is looking to be bigger than the last. Just seeing where I came from and where I am at now in my career is one thing that really keeps me going and keeps my inspired.
I don’t just put lyrics, instruments and melodies together to make songs, my music is an experience and I want my fans to know that I am here to provide that experience and give them a piece of my heart and soul and energy, I want them to feel what I feel and get the same chill that I do when I am making a song that I love. I don’t write much or focus too much on concepts and trends when I go into my mode of creation. I go off of vibes and what i am going though at the moment so I can get the most authenticity out of my art. I put my all into my craft and I hold myself and those i work with to the highest standard to produce and cultivate the best possible product for not only my fans and listeners but also for myself. My name is TV ShoweZ, TV stands for “Talented Visionary”. I believe that’s who I truly am and I embody that every day. I believe everyone is Talented in their own way but you cannot know where your going or what your can truly accomplish with your talent without a vision.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
My mission is to a be able to do what I love for a living with authenticity and integrity and make a positive impact in the world the simultaneously . Apart of that missions to be able to give back to my community and to the world abundantly. Create jobs for my community, Put my friends in position to use their God given talents in places they never think they could. Make sure my family is financially set for generations. Inspire the youth and generations after mine to be the best version of them selves and chase their wildest dreams.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The absolute most rewarding part about my work is seeing that all the time and effort I put in to my craft translate to people dancing and cheering my name at shows, replaying music and just being in the moment with my creation. Seeing how it affects their life right before my eyes is a crazy feeling and there’s nothing else like it. Having that connection with my fans and friends is so surreal and so important to me. Especially because as an perfectionist, I am my biggest critic and many times I overthink my work or sometimes may not even like something I have created but seeing people fall in love with that same very thing give me a since of security and affirmation and lets me know that what I am doing is bigger than me and that I really am chosen to take this path.
