We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Tuesday Thomas. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Tuesday below.
Tuesday, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. I’m sure there have been days where the challenges of being an artist or creative force you to think about what it would be like to just have a regular job. When’s the last time you felt that way? Did you have any insights from the experience?
I have never wondered what it would be like to have another job. I have had “other Jobs” and they all sucked. When I started this I knew there was no plan B. It was this. I believe if you keep a plan B in mind you will not give plan A your complete and undivided attention, therefore sabotaging your goals.
You got to be ALL in it to win it!

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

I am an entertainer. Through all my trauma and grief I know that I am put here to make others lives happier and more bearable through entertaining them!

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I am a trans woman who started transition 40 years ago. I have many stories that have changed me for the better. One in particular showed me my “place” in this world.
I went down to Mexico for my first procedures. Back then very few US drs would operate on a “man” and those that did were very scammy and butchered us girls. Not really too be trusted and charged and arm and a leg. There were some great Drs in Mexico as Mexico has always been kinder to trans woman
Surprising coming from a Macho land BUT they would rather a boy become a girl than one be gay.
So I went down there and even before surgery I was treated like a gorgeous woman. I had men trying to hit on me left and right. I went and got a nose job and breast augmentation. Afterword I spent time there to heal in the beautiful city of Guadalajara. Gorgeous temps, wonderful people. I was treated like a LADY and a queen.
I thought I was over my dysphoria of being “Clocked” as no one ever looked at me with the “side eye” I had occasionally in US or questioned my gender.
I purchased hormones over the counter to bring back , again in Mexico you do not need a prescription and I did research and they were/are not illegal to bring back. So I bought what was allowed
On my return trip I had a layover in San Antonio. They had just remodeled and become an International airport. This was my first time flying Internationally. On the flight there everything was miss, ma’am, etc and one man tried to chat me up on the flight. I get off and wait in the customs line and get to the front to declare and was grabbed by a very zealous huge , for lack of better term, back country Texas guy who loudly proclaimed in front of everyone “ There is something not right about ‘THIS PERSON”’ I know as a trans woman what was meant by “this person. Mind you alll my id had been changed to F and a F name as well
They opened my bag in front of everyone and puled out the hormones( which again are legal) and loudly proclaimed I am trafficking and to all men here in this area this either is or was a man so you all better watch out cause these” people” are here to fool you into sex.
I was literally dragged away crying in embarrassment while a huge roomful of people were staring at me and the person who found me out was getting High fives by his male co workers, told good job and he will go far, congrats.
I was put in a locked room for 8 hours ,missed my connection. This was before cell phones so not sure what to do what was happening , etc.. after 8 hours a man finally came in and said You can go. The drugs aren’t illegal. No apology. No voucher, no instructions on how to get another flight. Just go.
I asked since they weren’t illegal can I have my medicines back? I was told no. we flushed them. We aren’t contributing to this behavior now go or ill get you for resisting arrest.
I left. Defeated, scared , demoralized and more. SHeepishl went to the counter to see what I could do to get back home. The lady said she could help me That problems were occurring due to the airport becoming international and everyone was on edge. But the flight would not leave for another 7 hours ( first thing in morning) . I had no extra money so I had no choice but to sleep in airport. The next morning I went to the bathroom, fixed myself up best I could. Thinking I am obviously a man by looks I was just done.
I get on the plane to NY and the whole trip there the older gentleman next to me kept remarking how gor0geous I am, buy-in me drinks, complimenting me and wondering if he could tae me to dinner , if I liked of course, sometime when I got settled after the trip He was a complete gentleman and was not creepy at all. It really brought my ego back up
But I never forgot my place. I never forgot there was one evil lurking around the corner to out me, that if I said the wrong thing I could be taken away to jail or worse, That there are High Highs, but we must deal with the low lows to balance them out. That even though was merely trying to lead my best life, others looked at me like my sole purpose was a lie and a lie to them , trying to “fool” them and I could be eradicated, so I must proceed with caution but I do need to Live my truth. If not for m for those that come after me , No one deserves this treatment and I will fight to make sure others do not get it

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
When people see my work and come to me to tell me how much they were touched. That they came into the night/experience from a bad place( maybe they got fired, their Partner left them, etc) and left with a sense of joy. Telling me that while their problems are still there , I made them forget about them or made them less unbearable for the time and helped put them into perspectic Knowing I made someones time here a little more happy
