Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Tuesday Lewis-harris. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Tuesday, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
I’ve always known I was meant to be an entertainer. As early as six years old, I boldly declared that I wanted to grow up to be an actress. Little did I know, this desire would be just the beginning of a much broader journey as an entertainment entrepreneur. To me, an entertainment entrepreneur isn’t just someone who starts or grows companies in the industry, but someone who wears many hats—I’m an actress, a development producer, a creative writer and author, and a teacher. Becoming this version of myself required taking bold risks, and the most life-changing of them all began in 2012.
At the time, I was working a call center job in Dallas, trying to keep my dream alive as a local actress. But deep down, I felt a calling—a gentle nudge from God—telling me to move to Los Angeles. The idea sounded impossible. I was a wife and mother of two young boys, and uprooting our lives felt like a gamble. Still, every morning on my commute to work, I’d hear Steve Harvey on the radio urging his listeners to “take the leap,” “open the parachute,” and “follow God’s calling.” Somehow, it felt like he was speaking directly to me.
Soon, signs started appearing everywhere: Los Angeles license plates seemed to follow me, and I began to feel that the city was calling my name. Then, my husband came home one day with devastating news—he had lost his job. For me, that was confirmation. It was time to take the risk.
Without a backup plan, we packed up our 2005 Mitsubishi Galant, loaded our two boys, and left for Los Angeles with expired paper plates on the car and dreams that were far bigger than our bank account. We had a loose plan: stay with a distant cousin until we could find our footing. When we arrived, I immediately started submitting for acting gigs. My first role was unpaid background work on an early Issa Rae series called Words with Girls. Meeting Issa, who exuded a quiet confidence as the woman in charge, was a turning point. It inspired me and confirmed that I was on the right path.
But soon, things began to unravel. My cousin’s wife asked us to leave, and we found ourselves relying on homeless assistance programs and bouncing between motels. Jobs in LA were plentiful, but wages were far from livable. One day, we reached our breaking point. We were down to our last dollar, trying to secure a place to sleep when I got a heartbreaking call—my uncle had passed away unexpectedly. That was the final straw. We decided to return to Dallas to be with family.
Coming back home felt like defeat. I tried to rekindle my dream by moving to Atlanta three years later, but it just wasn’t the same as Los Angeles. Once again, we returned to Dallas, where we focused on stabilizing our lives and growing our family. Over the years, I poured myself into mentoring at-risk girls in the performing arts through my nonprofit. It reignited a fire in me. I enrolled in acting classes and began declaring that I would return to LA—a ritual we called “What You Claim on Your Pizza?” in class to proclaim our goals aloud.
Fast forward to 2020. I was working at Goldman Sachs, juggling my responsibilities, and feeling stuck in the grind. Then the pandemic hit. Two days before the world shut down, I prayed, asking God to deliver me from the life I was living. Almost immediately, the signs returned—California license plates, blessings I couldn’t explain. And then, a financial breakthrough came. This time, my husband and I knew it was time to try again.
We planned the move carefully this time. We secured a rental home in Los Angeles, saved money, and ensured we had a safety net. With our four kids, we packed a U-Haul and left for California. This time, everything fell into place. I went back to school to earn my Master’s in Film Producing, and my career took off. My family signed with talent managers and agencies, booking jobs and thriving in the entertainment industry. Within two years, I was producing films and living out the dreams I had once thought were impossible.
None of this would have happened without taking that first leap of faith. Every setback prepared me for this moment. Listening to God’s direction and trusting Him, even when the odds were stacked against us, made all the difference. Taking the risk wasn’t easy, but it was the key to unlocking my destiny.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m Tuesday Lewis-Harris, and my journey as an entertainer and entrepreneur has been shaped by faith, resilience, and a lifelong passion for storytelling. I’ve always known I was meant to be in the entertainment industry—at just six years old, I declared my dream of becoming an actress. What began as a passion for acting grew into a multifaceted career as an actress, producer, creative writer, author, and educator.
My path into the entertainment industry was anything but traditional. In 2012, I took a leap of faith and moved to Los Angeles with my family, chasing what felt like an impossible dream. We started with nothing but belief and determination, and through countless challenges, I learned the value of perseverance and trusting God’s direction. My experiences of navigating those early struggles and finding opportunities helped me evolve from an aspiring actress into a development producer and storyteller with a deep appreciation for the creative process.
Today, I offer a range of creative services, including film and television development, producing, and storytelling through writing. My work focuses on creating authentic, faith-driven stories that inspire, entertain, and resonate with audiences. Whether it’s a feature film, a writing and publishing books, or educational content, my goal is to leave a lasting impact by uplifting and empowering others.
What sets me apart is my ability to blend creativity with strategy, coupled with a deep understanding of the importance of representation and meaningful storytelling. I pride myself on being able to take an idea from concept to execution while maintaining authenticity and purpose. I’m not just creating content—I’m crafting experiences that reflect diverse perspectives and honor the gifts God has given me.
One of the things I’m most proud of is my ability to persevere through challenges and turn setbacks into opportunities. From producing films starring incredible talent like Al Pacino to building a nonprofit that empowers youth through the performing arts, every step of my journey has been about planting seeds of hope and faith in myself and others.
For those connecting with me or my brand for the first time, I want you to know that my work is rooted in purpose, family, and faith. Whether you’re following my journey as an actress, reading my stories, or experiencing a project I’ve produced, I hope it inspires you to embrace your own dreams and take bold steps toward them.
At the heart of my brand is a commitment to storytelling that matters. Whether through entertainment, education, or empowerment, I aim to create work that not only entertains but also sparks conversations, builds connections, and leaves people feeling seen, valued, and inspired.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
One of the most significant pivots in my life came in 2012 when I made the bold decision to move my family to Los Angeles to pursue my dream of working in the entertainment industry. At the time, I was an aspiring actress in Dallas, balancing a call center job and family life. But I felt a calling—a deep pull to take a leap of faith and chase my dreams on a much bigger stage.
The move to Los Angeles wasn’t easy. We packed our two young boys into our car and left for California with no real safety net. I was determined, but within months, we faced significant challenges—losing housing, bouncing between motels, and relying on homeless assistance programs. The pressure of surviving in a new city far outweighed our initial excitement.
It became clear that the timing wasn’t right, and I had to pivot. We made the difficult decision to return to Dallas to regroup and focus on rebuilding our lives. At first, it felt like failure, but looking back, I realize it was one of the most important turning points in my journey.
During this time, I pivoted toward serving others. I started a nonprofit to mentor at-risk girls through the performing arts. While pouring into them, I rediscovered my own passion for storytelling, which gave me the strength and clarity to refine my goals. Three years later, I pivoted again, trying to reignite my career by moving to Atlanta, but I learned that my heart still longed for Los Angeles.
Fast forward to 2020—after years of preparation, saving, and prayer—my family and I took the leap once more, but this time, we did it differently. We moved back to LA with a solid plan, financial stability, and a clearer sense of purpose. The pivot paid off: I earned my Master’s in Film Producing, began working on major projects, and embraced my identity as an actress, producer, writer, and entrepreneur.
This experience taught me the value of recognizing when to pivot and when to pause. Each redirection wasn’t the end of my dream—it was a step closer to achieving it. Sometimes, the pivot is where the real growth happens.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
Absolutely! My creative journey is deeply driven by a mission to inspire, uplift, and create meaningful connections through storytelling. Whether it’s acting, producing, writing, or mentoring, my goal has always been to use my gifts to highlight the human experience, amplify diverse voices, and bring stories to life that resonate on a soul level.
One of the core values fueling my journey is faith. I believe that creativity is one of the greatest gifts God has given us, and I strive to honor that by telling stories that reflect hope, redemption, and the beauty of life’s complexities. I aim to create work that not only entertains but also leaves people with something to think about—whether it’s reimagining their own potential, feeling seen through a character’s journey, or simply being reminded of their own resilience.
Another driving force is my passion for helping others discover and nurture their God-given talents. Whether it’s mentoring at-risk youth, collaborating with other creatives, or teaching others how to self-publish or produce, I see every project as an opportunity to pour into others and encourage them to embrace their unique gifts.
Ultimately, I want my work to leave a legacy. I want people—especially women, mothers, and those who’ve faced seemingly insurmountable odds—to know that they’re capable of doing extraordinary things. My journey isn’t just about achieving personal success; it’s about proving that with faith, determination, and a willingness to take bold risks, anything is possible.
That mission is what drives me every single day and keeps me moving forward, even in the face of challenges. It’s bigger than me—it’s about impact, legacy, and showing others what’s possible when you stay the course.
