Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Tsvetta Kaleynska. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Tsvetta, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Any thoughts around creating more inclusive workplaces?
As an immigrant from Bulgaria, I understand the challenges and opportunities that come with working in a different culture and environment. I have learned to appreciate the value of different perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences that enrich our work and our lives.
At my company, RILA GLOBAL CONSULTING, we have a diverse and talented team of professionals, 10 out of 12 of whom are female. We are proud to support and empower women in leadership roles, and to foster a culture of collaboration, respect, and innovation.
In 2023, we regularly kicked off global projects with colleagues from different countries and regions. While it was a challenge to coordinate among multiple time zones, schedules, and team members it was yet another reminder of the impact global teams can have. Over the course of our project work, we consistently learned how to communicate effectively, to listen actively, and to adapt to changing situations. We also learned to appreciate the unique strengths and contributions of each team member and to leverage our diversity as a source of creativity and innovation.
Tsvetta, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
RILA GLOBAL CONSULTING is a next-generation consultancy using social listening to power, grow and educate brands. RILA is recognized by Fortune500 customers, international agencies, and industry experts as the leader in Social Media Research and Consumer Insights.
I founded RILA GLOBAL CONSULTING in 2019 due to my dissatisfaction with the leading social listening agencies worldwide. While working in various technical roles at software companies and agencies, I noticed that despite paying top dollar for their social listening projects, large companies’ projects were being outsourced to inexperienced and cheap labor. This led to inadequate analytics, critical outcomes, and a lack of digital strategy, which troubled me deeply.
As someone who values my clients’ needs and trust, I made a decision to establish a company that exclusively delivers top-notch work carried out by consumer insights experts. Since then, RILA GLOBAL CONSULTING has grown to include 12 employees spread across 7 countries with virtual offices on 3 different continents.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
For us, the most effective strategy for growing our clientele has been through word of mouth as well as reachouts via partners. Cold emailing does not always bring back immediate results, but it has led to unexpected opportunities that we’ve benefitted on the long run.
We’d really appreciate if you could talk to us about how you figured out the manufacturing process.
Beside my professional work, I have a creative project called “The Story of Kukeri” – a bilingual coloring book that celebrates my Bulgarian heritage. I wanted to share the rich and colorful culture of Bulgaria with my bilingual children and other kids around the world.
Since I am not a professional illustrator, I hired a young talented illustrator in Vietnam whom I met via my team. We collaborated virtually to create a unique and innovative and educational product. Albeit the fact that the illustrator was not Eastern European, through the power of communication, we succeeded in creating a best-selling book.
