We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Truenice Bryant a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Truenice, thanks for joining us today. What did your parents do right and how has that impacted you in your life and career?
My mother was a God-Fearing woman who instilled life principles as well as biblical principles in my life that I still follow today. My biological father and I don’t speak much but my Father that raised me up until the age of 13 served in the military for about 28 years so those lessons or oraganization, punctuality, resilience, courage, and bravery have impacted me as well.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am a widow of 5 years come October 2024, I am the product of Successful Teenage Mother…I had my first child at 14 and now a mom of 4, I am an author x3, I’ve been writing since I was about 8 or 9, all things writing and journaling are absolutely therapeutic to me, I am a Purpose Pusher, I love to see people walking in what God has placed on their life, and a Kingdom Advancer…I believe we were put on earth to walk out our God given purposes to advance the kingdom of Heaven.
I am the founder of The Level Up Sis Network which is a sisterhood, a faith based community of women who have chosen to go for all things God in all areas of our lives. We Pray, We Pour, We Push…that is our motto.
I am most proud of the mark I leave on other people’s lives by displaying the love of Christ.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I will say that my life has been one about Resilience and Perseverance but the most recent one that comes to mind is the sudden loss of my husband of 11 years…from having to break the news to our 4 children and staying strong for them, to the funeral, and even now. I would use my private alone time to grieve because I wanted my children to be okay, I didn’t want them worrying about Mom. We have made tremendous progress in accepting the loss and in turn creating ways to keep their father’s legacy going.

If you could go back, would you choose the same profession, specialty, etc.?
Absolutely Not. I love what I do, I love being able to help others, I love being able to speak life into those who have given up on hope, I love being able to show others that there is a better way.
