We recently connected with Troy D. Fowler Sr. and have shared our conversation below.
Troy D., looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Do you take vacations? Why or why not?
Yes, I absolutely believe in taking vacations. The best thing I can do for myself is to recognize when it’s time to take a break. It’s healthy to do so. Going away gives me a healthy way to deal with the challenges life throws at me. It gives me space to be inspired with new ideas or to see new opportunities.
When things around us get busy, it’s likely to affect our bodies and state of mind. Busy schedules and high activity levels lead to stress. Too much stress triggers our bodies into ‘fight or flight’ mode. Our body functions speed up so we can escape danger, even if there is none. That state might be helpful if you are being chased by an angry hippo, but it’s harmful if you stay in that state all day long.
Having a healthy balance between activity and inactivity is essential for me. When I go on vacation, I empower and enable myself to take charge of my health and well-being and live my life to the fullest. It starts with me. By fueling the power of knowing myself and what works for my life. In my opinion, living life on autopilot is not the way to go!
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I have been in difficult situations before, and I know how unpleasant they can be. I want to share that people don’t have to stay in those situations, and that’s where I come in. My goal is to help people overcome their worries, challenges, and doubts so that they can move forward in life.
I work with everyday people who still want to reach their goals or dreams. My work starts by letting them know that they are not alone. For my clients who are struggling with a career difficulty, a habit they want to change, a relationship that isn’t working out, or something else, I am here to help.
We all require assistance from time to time, and it is my focus to help my clients get where they want to be. This is where Day To Day Living comes in, by empowering our clients and showing them how to live a better life while achieving success.
My goal is to help my clients achieve their personal and professional goals with energy and enthusiasm. I empower them to believe in themselves and their abilities and to face their challenges with confidence and strength.
Throughout my life, I have been told that I have a great ear for listening. One day, while helping a woman I knew who was working at a home improvement store, she needed help figuring out her career path. I listened and asked her questions, such as: What are your goals? What will you sacrifice for them? How will you be supported? If you had it, how would you protect it? What does it look like when you reach it? I was able to get her thinking, and at that moment, I felt a calling to pursue this path. That’s how I became an Empowerment Tactician and started my company, Day To Day Living.
Day To Day Living provides an infusion of coaching and consulting to encourage the personal and professional goals of our clients. The company arose from a desire to improve people’s lives by assisting them in becoming better versions of themselves.
As an Empowerment Tactician, I help clients believe in themselves and their ability to reach their personal and professional goals with energy and vigor. I assist individuals with tactics that fit new circumstances or goals in their lives and deliver personalized strategies to help them reach their short and long-term goals. My focus is on awakening the client’s realization that they are not in their way of attaining their definition of success.
The mission of Day To Day Living is to build on what works well and motivate the client’s appreciation of their existing unique contributions, both personally and professionally. The personalized coaching strategies will bring out the skills and knowledge of the client’s aspirations to contribute to their lives.
The focus of Day To Day Living is to assess the client’s progress toward achieving their goals through check-ins via in-person, phone, or virtual meetings. The company also offers online coaching events for teens, men, professionals, couples, and retirees monthly, as well as e-books for clients.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
I have found that actively engaging with my community and being approachable has been a great way to acquire new clients. Most of my new clients are people I’ve met through various community activities. To increase my visibility, I participate in civil groups, serve as a board member for organizations, attend networking events, and sponsor activities that showcase my business. It’s also important to ask clients for referrals.
Building a social media presence is crucial in today’s world. You don’t necessarily need a large following, but it’s important to have a secured and filled-out profile on all social media platforms so that potential clients can easily find your website or email address. Sharing links to your website or free content on all your social channels is also crucial. Additionally, hosting webinars, live streams, or podcasts and linking them to your website can be a great way to increase your visibility.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Being honest about who I am as a person is how I built my reputation. I have come to understand that being authentic is one of the greatest gifts we can give ourselves, bringing us peace and grace. People are drawn to realness in a person. If one is not true to who they are, people will sense it, and the trust will be lost. I have found that living a life that is true leads to people feeling comfortable with me.
Yes, I have had my obstacles, and I own every single one of them. I stay committed to my path. I believe in truly helping people. My brand is me, I am strongly vocal about that. You get a brother who has lived life right alongside everyone and who will be the first to admit to not knowing all the answers. I remind myself often of the experiences I’ve had in the past and how they made me feel. This helps me stay motivated. I also imagine what my life would be like without pursuing what I love, which keeps me going. Listen, I am there with you. It’s my honor to help you discover the path to reaching your goal.
I feel incredibly fortunate to have such a loving family in my life. I speak of my family in everything I do. I want people to relate to me. Yes, I will tell you that both of my parents have been there for me through thick and thin. I am the legacy of them who instilled in me to be a strong Black man. People will hear how I speak highly of my wife Tasha. I love her to pieces! Again, I am someone that people can relate to because I am living as a married man. I am also a father of two boys. Heck, I even have pet dogs. What I am driving home here is that I get it. I can relate. I must disarm myself for my clients, so they feel that I am normal just like them. I’m here to help simple and plain that is what I live on with my reputation.
