Tristan, appreciate you joining us today. Naming anything – including a business – is so hard. Right? What’s the story behind how you came up with the name of your brand?

The name Beauty and A Cocktail was created by putting two things together that I enjoy doing. I am a licensed esthetician and I’m big on beauty like makeup, lashes, facials etc. I also enjoy creating cocktails. I love to host and entertain my family, friends, and clients so I combined the two and came up with my name for my brand.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers

My journey in the beauty industry started with me experiencing and having fun with makeup. Family and friends would allow me to practice doing looks on them. I really fell in love with the experience and thought it would be cool to make money doing something that I have a passion for. My first job in the beauty industry was at Sephora. It was amazing working there, I was able to learn about different brands from makeup, fragrances and also facial products. While working there, clients would hire me for outside events for weddings, parties, photo shoots etc. This lead me on my independent journey to becoming an entrepreneur.

6 months after working at Sephora I was offered a management position for Laura Mercier cosmetics. Working for Laura made me feel more comfortable with operating a business. Planning events and learning how to create client relationships was so helpful with me starting my own personal business. I was starting to outgrow my position there and decided to further my education and apply for esthetics school. Beauty school gave me the opportunity to learn more and advance my career in the beauty industry. After esthetics school I decided to take my business full throttle with Beauty and A Cocktail.

At Beauty and A Cocktail we provide Lash extensions, full body waxing, makeup, lash and brow tint, microblading, tattoo removal, lash lifts, and carbon peels. What sets us apart from other salons is that we provide male upkeep services. We offer beard upkeeping, Brozilian wax, Manscaping, and full body waxing for men. Men can book with us and experience good quality waxing services.

Here at Beauty and A Cocktail we take pride in educating clients on the type of services we provide. It is a major deal to our company to make every client aware and comfortable with each service. It is very important for clients to know exactly what to expect from the services being provided. Being honest with our clients is our top priority.

Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?

Beauty and A Cocktail is a family-owned business. I started the business 12 years ago, and in 2020 my sister joined the business with me.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?

We have a very loyal clientele. The way I have grown and kept my clientele is by being honest. Honesty is very important and also educating clients and providing consultations before each service is top priority. We provide a very personal experience for each person. Social media has been helpful with bringing in clients, but word of mouth has been the biggest marketing strategy. Clients can trust us and feel very safe and comfortable receiving services from us therefore they tell their friends and family about our business.
