Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Tristan Quigley. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Tristan, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
I consider my business successful for more reasons than just money. To me, seeing my loyal client base grow year after year for over 12 years is one marker for success. I’ve created timeless memories over the years for hundreds and hundreds of families and I love that they keep coming back for more. I am constantly tweaking things in my business to make it better and better. I pride myself on outstanding customer service, building strong relationships & friendships with my clients and providing them with beautiful portraits that they cherish for years to come.
Tristan, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Hi! I’m Tristan, the owner of Tristan Quigley Photography. I’ve been a San Diego photographer specializing in maternity, newborn, children & family photography for over 12+ years. As a mom to 6 awesome kids that range from 2 up to teenagers and over 12+ years in business, I bring loads of experience to the table as a photographer and as a busy mom. I can also tell you these crazy days go by in the blink of an eye. It might not seem like it at the time, but I swear my oldest was just learning how to walk and now she is on the brink of driving soon. All you can do is hold on for the ride and do whatever you can to capture these moments before they are gone. That’s where I come in. After working with me you will walk away with timeless images to cherish and a new friend. I offer unmatched customer service & beautiful memories you can look back on forever!
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
After moving to San Diego from Florida back in 2010, I had to start my business again in a new state from the ground up. It definitely wasn’t easy and I was also caring for 3 young girls with no family around to help. I was mainly part-time and steadily gaining clients strictly from word-of-mouth referrals. Fast forward to 2013, my world was shattered when my husband was tragically killed in an accident on the way to work. I became a widow at 33 & had three girls age 7, 4 & 17 months to care for on my own. I could have crumbled. But that’s not me. I fought hard to give my girls the best life possible & I fought hard to grow my business into something amazing. For me, for them, for my wonderful current husband and our beautiful blended family and for my late husband. I know he would be over the moon proud of where I am now.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
My business got off the ground solely by word-of-mouth referrals. It started as a slow process, but has blossomed into something more than I ever dreamed of. I not only provide my clients with gorgeous images to cherish, but also top-notch customer service, a great sense of humor that will make your session fun and great perks for being a Tristan Quigley Photography client!
