We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Trisha Finch a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Trisha , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
Born and raised in the Philippines, our sources of entertainment are watching television, reading books, and browsing the internet. I’ve always wanted to be part of this entertainment to create content. After moving to Austin 6 years ago, I started connecting with local creatives, like, models, photographers, and local business owners. Then, I shift to acting in films, tv-series, and commercials. As an artist, you have to keep honing your creativity and adapt to the trend in the industry, especially in social media, influencing products and creating content for brands.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I always wanted to act on TV, and it was a suppressed passion, I should say, but you know, when you grow up, and your parents tell you to focus on your life (adulting), all those burning passions subside. We live in a digital world right now, and social media is a great platform to express your creativity and get a massive number of followers. People say that I don’t talk too much, being shy or introverted, and am not funny. I would think that I have a sense of humor. Lol!
On my Instagram, I create content for beauty, fashion and lifestyle, travel, and sometimes funny video memes. I have many influencer friends telling me that your account will not grow because I’m not consistent with your niche/business and replied to them that I just wanted to have fun creating content, and people who are viewing my reels will make them giggle a little.
I understand business because I am running my own business—Adana Bath and Beauty, established in 2017, focuses on Filipino-American culture and bringing scent in their bath that will give them a nostalgic feeling back home, which is the Philippines.
I love watching animes, horror movies, spicy food, and spending time in nature.
I would focus on increasing viewers in my Insagram reels so that half of my earning bonus will go to the Philippines, helping those less unfortunate children who can’t afford to buy school supplies, like books, pens, bags, etc.
: Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
I am a person who believes that all of us have a mission in life. You have to find something that gives you joy, something doable, and you will be part of people’s life journey. Growing up in a low-income family, and for me, quality education is such a big deal. I didn’t go to private school and got my AA degree in college. In my mother’s hometown, there are a lot of poor kids who don’t have the means to buy school supplies. This is where I get my drive to do better with my content, monetize my social media and use those earnings for these children to buy their basic needs at school. It’s not much, but this will inspire them to do good at school, and someday when they become successful in life, they will look back, and maybe they will return these deeds to those children in need.
Do you think there is something that non-creatives might struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can shed some light?
People always see the result of what you are doing in life, either you failed or become successful. The highlights of my creative journey are the days that I don’t want to get up and stuck in between being lazy and comparing myself to person who are successful already and my career will not take off. Sometimes, I have this voice inside telling me that I cannot do it and some days this voice is telling me that I am winning. I’m one step closer to my goals. I cried over my goals when I don’t achieve and get over quickly and reasses my next move. One thing I have learned in life when acheiving my goals, I have to be patient, then being resiliant, passionate, and consistentcy will follow. I have nowhere else to go but keep on moving!
