Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Trish Standley. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Trish Standley is the host of The Style with Trysh TV Show which began in 2014 on BlogTalk Radio and aired every Sunday.
In the early days, the show centered around the latest trends in both the fashion and beauty industries. The show would feature up and coming stylist, designers, make up artists and etc. The featured segments were “What’s Happening with San” corresponded by Cassandra Parks who shared various events and activities that occurred in the Atlanta area. There was also “Martacious Closet” corresponded by Marty Hamm who introduced and taught our audience about “known” designers. Style with Trysh radio had several syndication opportunities and appeared on several different online radio platforms.
In March 2019 Trish partnered with Mark Squared Studios, and Style with Trysh debuted Season 1 of “The Style with Trysh TV show”. The show kept its initial topics of fashion as well as introducing the up and coming; however the show saw a need to inspire the everyday woman to pursue her dreams. Where the motto became: “Style with Trysh where the everyday woman reigns.” The goal is to ignite women to tap into their passion and encourage them to always lead with their best presentation possible. We understand that beauty begins from within so our guests consist of experts who will assist them in obtaining that. Some of the guests include motivational speakers, etiquette experts, counselors, authors, entrepreneurs and many more.
Entering in its 3rd season, Style with Trysh has expanded from being viewed solely on YouTube to Roku, Amazon Prime, Apple and Android TV on both VTV network and Xperienc On Demand.
Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
Before I entered the media field I was an independent recording artist, and I made sure to learn all that I could about that industry. I went to conferences and took courses to the learn the ends and outs not just musically but business-wise as well. My only regret when transitioning into becoming a media host is that I did not do more research beforehand. Being inquisitive and asking the right questions is natural for me; however there are techniques that I wish I had learned earlier on. I am learning as I go the behind the scenes knowledge such as angles and lighting at the same time there is so much I could have learned on the technical and terminology end.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Most creatives view their creations as their babies/children no matter what the creation is. The ability to have a vision, idea or inspiration to come to fruition is one of humility but also makes you proud. The reward of visualizing what’s been in your head to becoming a reality is surreal. It serves as both an encouragement and provides a barometer for improvement. It is so important to walk out those pangs of creativity nagging at your heart. It was given to you for a reason. Only you will care and nurture it the way it should be. You only have one life. Why not get started now?
