Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Trish Lanns. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Trish, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
Stepping into solo entrepreneurship was a leap of faith. The uncertainty of not knowing how things would unfold or being able to predict my income was uncomfortable, but I learned that growth happens in discomfort. It’s the catalyst that pushes us to evolve and expand. Once I let go of the 9-5, aligned opportunities began to flow effortlessly my way.
Trish, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am a Sound Bath Meditation Facilitator, EFT-Tapping Practitioner and Yoga Guide committed to fostering soothing spaces to receive deep relaxation, balance, and clarity. With a gentle, intuitive approach, I guide individuals in regulating their nervous systems, cultivating mindfulness, and releasing tension, empowering them to navigate life’s challenges with greater ease and resilience.
I offer 1:1 EFT sessions, immersive holistic wellness experiences, including Sound Bath Meditations, EFT + Sound Healing Journeys, and weekly studio yoga classes, all aimed to nurture your mind, body, and spirit.
My own path toward holistic wellness began in my mid-20s, when I found myself navigating the turbulent waters of social anxiety, GAD, and depression. These challenges took a toll on my emotional and physical health, but it was through yoga that I discovered a powerful tool to reconnect with myself. Yoga helped me shift from an overactive mind to a grounded body, creating a sense of calm and enabling me to regulate my nervous system. This transformative journey inspired me to pursue yoga teacher training, which eventually led me to explore sound healing and Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT-Tapping), deepening my practice of self-care and unlocking the power of inner healing.
Guided by love and compassion, I embrace the profound healing power of sound, movement, breath, and stillness. I am committed to cultivating an environment where you can slow down, reset, and reconnect with your true self, creating a space for restoration, reflection, and personal growth.
Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
Setting healthy boundaries and prioritizing self-care consistently and not just during challenging time is essential. Trusting your intuition and inner wisdom to guide you every step of the way is key. It’s also important to have a well-rounded support system to lean on and to ask for help unapologetically when you needed.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
With a diploma in Therapeutic Recreation, I spent several years working traditional 9-5 jobs, serving the older adult population by providing recreational programs aimed at enhancing their health, well-being, and quality of life. While maintaining my full-time job, I also guided mindfulness group sessions in the evenings and weekends. Influenced by societal expectations and self-limiting beliefs, I believed that the 9-5 path was the only route to success. Ironically, this mindset led to burnout, leaving me disconnected from my true self, pouring from an empty cup and no longer practicing what I preached. Through the transformative practice of EFT, I was able to release the constraints of the 9-5, letting go of what no longer served me. This shift cleared the path to solo entrepreneurship, allowing me to live authentically and align my life with my true values.
