Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Trish Bernard. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Trish, appreciate you joining us today. So, folks often look at a successful business and think it became a success overnight – but that often obscures all the nitty, gritty details of everything that went into the growth phase of your business. We’d love to hear about your scaling story and how you scaled up?
I currently love what I do, which is providing end-to-end marketing support to my clients. Initially, I started out as a freelance graphic artist and thought that was what I wanted to do forever. However, I realized that my clients needed more than just pretty graphics, and I wanted to provide them with comprehensive marketing services.
To expand my services, I started working as a virtual assistant to generate extra income. After a lot of trial and error, I was able to extend my services and offer more marketing services to my clients. As my workload increased, I realized that I needed more support and began to hire a team of seven competent women who help me run my brand.
The key to my success has been my willingness to take risks, learn from my mistakes, and seek support when needed.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I assist brands in implementing straightforward marketing strategies complemented by stunning visuals. If someone is seeking a seamless and all-inclusive approach to their company’s branding, I am their right-hand woman! From inception to completion, I provide ongoing support and utilize efficient tools to minimize time spent on individual projects while maximizing outcomes for each campaign.
Elevating and expanding your brand beyond your imagination using streamlined marketing techniques is my JAM!

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
Before becoming an entrepreneur, I spent 11 years working in corporate finance. However, my perspective changed when my dad passed away, and it made me realize that I wanted to enjoy my life, including loving what I do for work. While finance is a great field, it wasn’t my passion, and I was tired of settling and being afraid to take the leap into something that truly fulfilled me. I didn’t want to spend my last day on earth doing something I didn’t even like just for a paycheck.
So, I made the decision to search for something I loved doing, and after trying out three different business ventures, I finally found my true calling in marketing and graphic design.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
In my experience, referrals are the best way to get new clients for my business. When a satisfied client recommends me to their friends or colleagues, it’s like a trusted endorsement that can make a big impact. That’s why I always make sure to maintain strong relationships with my current clients, providing them with excellent service and going the extra mile to exceed their expectations. By doing so, they are more likely to remember me when someone they know needs the services I offer. I also keep in touch with them regularly and ask for their feedback to ensure their satisfaction. It’s a win-win situation because happy clients not only provide great referrals, but they are also more likely to return for future business themselves.
