Trise, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Setting up an independent practice is a daunting endeavor. Can you talk to us about what it was like for you – what were some of the main steps, challenges, etc.

Starting out it was all or nothing. I was quickly outgrowing the current space I was in. Although while there I met a lot of people and made such wonderful connections it was my time to progress. Collaborating with my Mom the Master Cosmetologist/ Instructor of the salon was one of the best decisions I could’ve made. I grew up in this setting so to be able to create my own and thrive in it is amazing. I mean who wouldn’t want a one stop shop, family affair right?! So I found a building and decided it’s Shop Time! The key thing was because I’m growing I now have to upgrade everything. My equipment, my status,and my life. I did just that and fast! So Grand opening Day was the kickoff to a fresh start. More space and opportunity. The journey continues to blossom as time goes on. My advice to any young professional is to DO IT! When you decide to step out on faith Do It! It may be hard and there will be challenges, but whatever you do, do not give up. If you’re going to do it, do it big! Stand up and out darling someone’s watching!

My name is Trise also known as The Skin Coach. I am a Licensed Esthetician. My goal is to make your skincare journey life changing with healthy glowing skin. I do everything skincare. My list of services are as follows: Microdermabrasions, Dermaplaning, LED Light Therapy, Chemical peels, Brazilian waxing, Body Waxing, And many more. I help my clients obtain clear skin and confidence in no time. I am most proud to have started and maintained growth. Upcoming I plan to grow further and teaching others how to do the same to maximize their potential. What sets me aside from the rest is that I am The Skin Coach and I take pride in that. I’m transforming people’s skincare life one face at a time. My Salon is By the Blade Salon and it is located near Nashville International Airport. Let’s move on to buying businesses – can you talk to us about your experience with business acquisitions?

Having my own practice allows me to create my own core values. The shop’s name is By The Blade Salon. I have A Master cosmetologist of 30 plus years specializing in total Hair care. A Braider who specializes in all protective braid styles, and an Aesthetician who specializes in everything Skincare. (Which is me). The main reason in investing into this was for growth. Growth is the main key in being successful, things are constantly changing in the right direction. So as this year begins we will have more for the community to engage in and grow with us!

Do you think you’d choose a different profession or specialty if you were starting now?

If I could go back I would choose this profession one million times over again! Skincare is truly my passion. And I love all of my clients and so happy to have made the bonds with beauty so far. If you have not seen us Stop by!
