Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Trinae Lashley. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Trinae thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
I was working as the Regional Director or Operations & I covered 2 states. Great job! I had promoted my best friend to Operations Manager, which was her dream job. We were a great team. Then Covid hit. She got Covid and was not doing well. I sat outside the glass door and she was then able to text. She said, “ I love you so much. Go Be Beautiful!” She passed away the next day. After her, I lost 3 other co-workers to Covid. I just couldn’t do it anymore. I started classes and worked along side an injector nurse in a spa. I loved it! After 3 months, I was able to quit my job and go full time. The rest is history! Lots of classes and studying & gaining experience. I named my business Bbeautiful Injectables! This spa means a lot to me
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I made the choice to start my own spa on Oct last year (same month Amanda passed away 2 years earlier) it just all fell into place. I found my location and on the side of town that has no spa at all; week 2 of looking. I drew the floor plans of what I wanted the inside to look like & the landlord built it out for me. It was done and passed inspection on 1/11. The team I had put together hustled and we got it all ready for our open house on the 1/13. I think what sets me apart is that I am able to provide multiple services in 1 location & am able to take walk-ins! My team is made up of 2 aestheticians, 2 RN injectors, a Brow artist that does permanent makeup & microblading brows, a spray tan artist, teeth whitening specialist, & our own Spa Momma. (My mom loves to hangout and talk to everyone). Our location is also between a nail salon, hair salon, & salt cave- which I feel is perfect! As a single mom, o wanted to provide a place where they can come to one location & and get everything they need. We also have bridal packages & prom packages. We do monthly specials & quarterly “girls night out” where groups can come & hang out with wines, snacks, huge discounts on services. We don’t leave the guys out- there are several services that the guys can also enjoy- including hair regrowth. We love to make the outside as beautiful as their inner beauty and watch their self confidence soar.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
It took me a long while to learn how to gain followers on social media. I would post before and after pics but the angles might not match or tilt of their heads, etc. I don’t use filters on the pics at all. Finally one day my oldest daughter called me and said- “Mom! Stop posting now!” She came into the spa and took my phone and got herself access to all of my social media. So now I am not allowed to post unless I show her and she approves. She is knocking it out of the ballpark with posts. We send her content and she works her magic and makes the post. She has done an amazing job & our friends list has really grown since then.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I feel like the quality of service we provide, the pampering atmosphere of the spa, & just being friendly has caused word of mouth to really take off. We are also more present in the community.. our goal is to have our logo seen daily by everyone. We walked 3 parades and handed out candy & business cards, we were on 3 radio stations with our ads, we did the potty ads in public restrooms, & of course have everyone talking and handing out cards everywhere we go.. just getting the name known has helped with a weekly increase in walk ins.
