We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Trifecta Comedy. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Trifecta below.
Hi Trifecta, thanks for joining us today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
Katie Baker: “As a kid my favorite movie was Legally Blonde, so I always said I wanted to be a lawyer when I grew up. Eventually I realized I had no interest in being a lawyer, I just wanted to be Elle Woods. And so, an actor was born.”
Davey Jarrell: “‘I’ve never wanted to do anything other than be in entertainment. When someone asked me when I was about 8 years old what I wanted to do when I grew up, I said, “work on SpongeBob.” Fast forward 12 years and my very first job happened to be working on SpongeBob.'”
Marc Rosenzweig: “I was raised by an actor and a director, at a very early age they shared their love for the arts with me. My dad became a high school theatre teacher when I was a baby. Any show that had a role for a child he would cast me (Oliver, South Pacific, Carousel, etc.). I loved performing in the shows and I thought my castmates, the high schoolers in the musicals, were the coolest people on the planet. I always wanted to be a part of the theatre community. My love for theatre, film, and story telling has only continued to grow over the years.”
Jack Shulruff: “When I was ten years old I played Snoopy in our community theatre’s production of You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown. Using aggressive jazz hands as my primary dance move, I stole the show with Snoopy’s one song, Supper Time. I’ve been chasing that glory ever since.”

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Katie Baker: “The best part about being an actor is the friends you meet along the way. What a gift that I get to spend time with people I love and look up to and call it work.”
Davey Jarrell: “I feel extremely lucky to have an outlet for making something funny and enjoyable.”
Marc Rosenzweig: “Yeah, what Davey said. I love making people laugh. People need a good laugh.”
Jack Shulruff: “Making audiences feel things and challenging their perspective on something. If your work as an artist can inspire emotion and provoke thoughts, especially new ones, that’s rewarding. It’s also fun to make people laugh with dirty jokes.”

Alright – so here’s a fun one. What do you think about NFTs?
Katie Baker: “You can’t hang digital art on your wall – so why would I buy it? As our world becomes more and more digital, I think everyone is going to start craving tangible art; museums, vinyls and LIVE theater. Trifecta Comedy’s renaissance is coming yet.”
Davey Jarrell: “I don’t like to get political.”
Marc Rosenzweig: “NFT? Is that like NSFW?”
Jack Shulruff: “Back when they were cool, I went in on some NFTs called Wall Street Bulls with a group of friends. I’m pretty sure they’re current value is now next to zero. So yeah. No thanks.”
