We recently connected with Tricord Music and have shared our conversation below.
Tricord , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
Taking risk. Wow! Being an artist is a total risk taker. You cannot expect to progress and grow without taking risk. Different people make it to different levels based on the risk they are willing to take. Moving from the comfortability of a 9-5 to running your own business is a risk. Especially when that decision is to help you progress as an artist. Taking on events that cause you to travel long distance to make connections for your progressed is risk taking. There are healthy and negative aspects of taking risk.
Tricord , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
We are Tricord. We are a Rock Band (transitioning to a heavier style; nu-metal) from Southeast Georgia. We formed in February 2020, and yes, right as the world shut down. We were originally a 5 piece band, but through some transitions and creative differences, we are the 3 man band you see today.
We offer high energy performance with relatable content for our listeners. We know what its like to go through everyday life. The members of this band have been and seen life from numerous aspects. The lyrical content of our music says so.
I think what sets us apart from other bands is our ability to connect with people. We share our stories to give others hope and point them to Jesus! We like to be personal with the audience we perform for. We care for people no matter what they believe or who they are.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Set backs. Wow, how we have had them. This band in the short few years it has been together has had transitions. Prior to that, we started during the pandemic! We didn’t see it as opposition, but as opportunity! We could have decided to stop the project or wait it off, but we prepared. We watched our peers. We studied what other artist were doing. We found our niche and progress.
Again, transitions. We have lost people, gained people, then lost them again. However, we have bounce back from it all! There is a fire under our feet. No matter the challenge, this train has to keep moving!
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Simple, changing lives! We have the esteemed pleasure of encountering some great people. The stories we hear from other people who see us live are beautiful. As stated before, we love to engage with our audience. At our merch table instead of quick pictures or fake smiles, we listen to others stories. Hearing how our stories helped them is the most rewarding aspect of doing this band.
