Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Tricia. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Tricia, appreciate you joining us today. undefined
One of the most meaningful projects I’ve worked on was designing a mental health app that helps patients track their moods and understand their emotional well-being over time. As someone who is passionate about mental health, this project felt incredibly meaningful because it wasn’t just about creating a product, it was about building something that could support people in navigating their mental health journeys. The app uses a multi-modal data ecosystem that helps a patient’s care team to get a holistic view of their moods, behaviors and social relationships and this helps in tailoring a more thoughtful and personal path to healing. Working on this app reminded me how powerful design can be when it’s used to make people feel seen, understood and supported.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m a designer with a focus in product design but my background was in graphic design. I first fell in love with design through a Kinfolk magazine, I was extremely drawn to its design, layout, typography and photography. And through this experience, I originally wanted to work in print, but everything changed when I took a web and app design class in college and discovered how much I love problem-solving. (But I still love designing fun little print projects for friends!)
These days, I design digital products across a range of industries. What drives me is the process of solving complex design problems and collaborating with a team to explore different angles and solutions. I just want people to feel like the product that I designed fits naturally into their lives, and it’s helpful, seamless and easy-to-use.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
For me, the most rewarding part of being a creative is the problem-solving process. I love diving into the challenge, learning about my audience and understanding what they truly need. Tapping into that sense of empathy and really seeing things from their perspective makes the process feel meaningful even before the final design is done. It’s exciting to me as well to uncover insights and craft solutions that are both thoughtful and useful.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
I just want my work to make someone’s day-to-day just a little bit better and a little bit easier. If they feel even a bit more empowered or supported because of something I designed, then that’s a win.
