We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Trey Dunbar a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Trey, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
I’m passionate about photography and sports (especially Basketball) So I decided to create THOROBREAD INC.MULTIMEDIA GLOBAL ENTERPRISES LLC., which is dedicated to bridging the gap between athletes, fans, and the ever-evolving world of sports media. Our mission is to empower athletes both on and off the field by providing innovative multimedia solutions that enhance their visibility and engagement. We strive to create a vibrant community where fans can connect with their favorite sports and athletes, fostering a deeper appreciation for the game. Through cutting-edge technology and creative storytelling, we aim to redefine the sports experience, making it accessible, interactive, and inspiring for everyone involved.”
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Trey Dunbar (AKA RESPECT THA SHOOTER) is a remarkable sports photographer who has made a significant impact in the basketball world through his unique artistic vision. With a keen eye for detail and an innate ability to capture the raw emotions of the game, Dunbar goes beyond merely documenting the action on the court; he encapsulates the essence of basketball as an art form.
His photographs convey the intensity and passion of players in motion, showcasing not just the athleticism but also the stories behind each shot. Whether it’s the sweat glistening on a player’s forehead during a crucial moment, the collective energy of a crowd, or the quiet determination in a coach’s eyes, Dunbar’s work highlights the human experience intertwined with the sport.
Using a blend of composition, lighting, and timing, he creates images that resonate with both basketball enthusiasts and art lovers alike. His ability to freeze fleeting moments—such as the split-second of a game-winning shot or the camaraderie between teammates—invites viewers to experience the thrill of the game as if they were right there on the court.
Dunbar’s artistry lies in his capacity to see beyond the surface, transforming ordinary moments into powerful visual narratives that reflect the heart and soul of basketball.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I Can sum it up like this. I’ve been in photography for about 8 years now and in June 2021 I was diagnosed with heart failure and the following year (June 2022) I suffered a stroke. This journey I’m on is not for the weak. There are times when you can get discouraged and want to give up but my Faith in GOD has kept me thus far, you just gotta stay prayed up and keep pushing. I have received a lot of No’s in this field Lol but that “YES” Is around the corner.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
I definitely had to learn how valuable TIME is because I always thought time was on my side (sought of ). Those health scares I had a couple of years ago put everything in perspective So now I go hard not just for me but for my legacy more than anything I have grand children (Aubrè , Avery, Sj,) That I love to no End. And for EVERY BREATH GOD ALLOWS I’m thankful and continue to be productive in my purpose because of them.
