We were lucky to catch up with Trevor W. Owens recently and have shared our conversation below.
Trevor W., appreciate you joining us today. What’s been the best thing you’ve ever seen (or done yourself) to show a client that you appreciate them?
As a Consultant, the most important thing to me is to make sure my clients are happy with the work that I provide. Oftentimes I go above and beyond the scope of the project to ensure my clients’ success and the success of their business. I remember one time particularly in which I was hired to create a logo and website for a new non-profit. I created the designs, finalized the website, and I decided to lead the charge in my client’s first city-wide event. This was a goal of my client, but I knew she needed help planning the event, gaining vendor support and funds, and establishing community partnerships. The event eventually was a major success, having over 75 vendors, panels of public speakers, and city-wide news coverage. I actually enjoyed speaking on the Entrepreneur Panel. This is just an example of how I enjoy going above and beyond for my clients.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Sure. Well I graduated with my MBA in 2018 and transitioned from Business Management to Business Consulting. I had worked for some amazing companies before going independent; companies like Enterprise, Verizon Wireless, and Capital One to name a few. I’ve always been tech-savvy so eventually my peers would ask me for help with their logos, websites, and new business development efforts. Simply helping others turned into Consult With Tre, LLC and provided me the opportunity to help create, build, establish, and grow over 60 business. I’ve placed a primary focus on Management, Strategy, and Marketing for new businesses, but have also played key roles in Software Development, Data Governance, and Business Systems Analysis.
I am most proud of never giving up and working even harder during moments of exhaustion and fatigue. It has taken a lot of hard work to establish a great client-base and to have a reputation of being a master in the Business Technology space. I’ve found innovative and cost-effective tools and processes that enhance and grow businesses which makes strategy and business tech consulting more accessible to business owners with all budgets.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
As an Entrepreneur, I’ve never received much family support. One lesson that I had to learn the hard way is that most (if not all) support will indeed come from strangers. It will come from the people you meet in the world who align with your mission and have the will and fortitude to support you on that mission.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Two things: Doing great work & being a man of my word. I’ve always believed a person’s work speaks for itself. When I do beautiful one-of-a-kind logos or fully interactive and functional websites, that work speaks for itself.
