Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Trevor Pentola. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Trevor, appreciate you joining us today. Was there a defining moment in your professional career? A moment that changed the trajectory of your career?
I have been a Personal Trainer for about 7 years now and I absolutely love it. Starting out I had hit a couple speed bumps right after graduation, which I am sure any trainer has experienced. This field of work, growth requires experience in which you learn from. I knew I wanted to help people become, and or stay healthy whether it is an elderly client trying to maintain strength, or a young athlete starting their sporting career. Along the way, I have slowly found my niche. Personal training is an umbrella that has multiple sectors within the field: strength training, endurance training, rehabilitation, etc. For myself, I have started to lean more towards rehab/prehab and restoring movement. I have witnessed the most rewarding, self-gratification stories in the last 3-4 years than I have in my entire career combined. Specifically speaking,
I have a female client that came to me with “frozen shoulder” back in 2018 when she was 57 years old. She had very poor upper body strength because she has worked around her shoulder, which contributed to overall upper body regression. Quickly, we were able to restore range of motion and even quicker than that, we were able to maximize upper body strength due to better movement. Moving forward, she is one you can call ‘injury prone’. In the last 4.5 years, on top of the frozen shoulder, she has torn her ACL (skiing), fractured her radius at the elbow (biking), and then fractured her wrist (pickleball). I can confidently say she has completely healed from each injury and have restored (overall) strength after each speedbump.
I have many more stories with frozen shoulders, weak lower backs, poor hip movement, bad knees, etc. The list can go on, but this one was the most rewarding because, as you can see, she is very active and loves being on the move. At the age of 61, she has witnessed the reintroduced strength she used to have many, many years ago.
I love my ‘job’.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I am Trevor Pentola, 29, and love being active within a healthy lifestyle. I played sports throughout my lifetime and continued my soccer career at William Jewell College. As I journeyed my way through high school and then onto college, I always wanted to place myself in an active job field. I never saw myself in an office setting, or sedentary lifestyle. Growing up I have had many coaches constantly working with me and always striving to give my best. I fell in love with coaching and capturing one’s best self. Soon to come find out, I can do that with all ages, whether it is a young athlete, middle-aged man/woman wanting to be healthier, or an elder simply wanting to be able to play with their grandchildren.
I want people to see my work as not only helping, but life changing. I have heard many individuals exclaim that their life is ‘over’ so might as well not even try. It is never too late to start; you can always have a healthier life.
I want to be that personal trainer/life coach/fitness specialist, whatever you want to call it, that people see and say, “He helped me get my life back.” I strive every day to broaden my knowledge and enhance every client’s experience with me.
My brand, Be Your Best, although short and sweet, captures one’s true potential in becoming healthy and increasing their longevity. That is the ultimate goal.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Starting off, my knowledge on training and nutrition were very basic and I will admint, probably a little closed-minded. I quickly decided to take a step forward to broaden my knowledge on a weekly basis, whether it was studying the anatomical structure deeper or gathering a simpler philosophy with nutrition. As I became smarter with my programs, I became more confident when training my clients and I think it showed. I started helping more and more people with their limiters. and changing more and more lives.
My favorite text, “I saw that you helped a guy with their (limiter), I have this (limiter) and I really need to fix it. Can you help me?”
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
I believe this prompt and the above prompt go hand in hand. As I made a reputation for myself and my work, it’s easy for a client to refer me to their family, friends, coworkers, etc. Now that I am on my own, I strictly rely on referrals, so my main focus is to get my current clients healthy as quick as possible so the chances they’ll refer my services increases immensely. Similar to other industries, a referral is the strongest indicator of a positive service provided. That is what I strive for every day.
