We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Trevon Deshun a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Trevon, thanks for joining us today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
I think after I started going to the studio frequently and writing song, I started to enjoy expressing myself through music. Now im addicted.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Prince Charming and I’m a music artist and songwriter from Houston, Texas. My first adventure in creativity was fashion and I was initially supposed to be writing a song for a friend. Once she and another friend heard me rap the song they told me to go to the studio and I’ve been making music since then.
I’m currently in the process of discovering what is actually have to say as an artist and in real time finding out what sets me apart. It’s better to just listen to the music, I tend to express myself better that way anyway. All I know right now is sometimes I feel lonely, sexy, depressed, happy and sometimes anxious. So that’s what I’m trying to put into my music. All the humans things. I’m excited to see where it goes.
I’m most proud of my most recent studio session. I’ve been doing new things or I tried a new thing and I really like what I made.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Making the music is probably the best part. I feel good at the studio.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
I want to be the best. I feel I have a genuine message and vision to share and I want to do that on the highest level. I am going to do that on the highest level.
