We were lucky to catch up with Trevione Townsend recently and have shared our conversation below.

Trevione , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?

Change in a positive way! I want individuals who have experienced being by bullied for like things like anime, super heroes, Star Wars etc. To know that there’s nothing wrong being yourself and that you weren’t born on this earth to be like anyone else. Why try to fit in when you are born to stand out.

Trevione , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

Film directing! I’ve always had a passion for filming since I was a child I would ask my mom to film me make funny videos or dancing. I started creating my own videos at the age of 16 on YouTube. I would fight an up hill battle against myself daily do to the lack of confidence I had in my ability to create entertaining content. So I gave up on doing it until one day my mom asked me about my videos and told me to never give up on myself which resparked a fire and inspired me to push forward. She told me to be myself rather it be liking anime or whatever it maybe to follow my passion to create content and change lives. I create a variety of different content more recently it has been anime influenced but try to be versatile. I would say what sets me apart from others is the message I try to implement into my stories that I tell. As well as showing to the world that being I’m a black male and I like things like Superheroes, Anime etc. I want everyone who sees my content or who meet me to be inspired to go out and create your own type of content and be comfortable in your own skin.

How did you build your audience on social media?

In my opinion there are five different things Staying consistent, creating entertaining content, working with others, supporting others, be creative.

Staying consistent is what helped me build my audience that’s a major factor it gives the viewers something to look towards to!

creating entertaining content that would catch peoples eye that’s what draws in the viewers.

Working with others helped me build connections and friendships along the way.

Supporting other content creators help build the community which in the long run help you out as well because you have consistent viewers and positive feed back.

Be creative you want to make sure you stay original no one likes content that’s been done before.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?

Word of mouth definitely helped me. In this industry you have to have a good reputation to be able to have certain doors opened for you. Staying professional is definitely one of the biggest key factors.
