Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Tre’Sean Durham. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Tre’Sean , thanks for joining us today. Going back to the beginning – how did you come up with the idea in the first place?
Before I started Supply Lab, I was blessed to cross paths with so many talented people from various walks of life. Whether they were in music, fashion, film, sports, entrepreneurship, or entertainment all of these people were extremely gifted in their own craft, but lacked the amount of attention or recognition that they deserved. Since I was in elementary school, I knew I wanted to anything that involved a camera and it wouldn’t feel like work. Once I graduated college, I was working in corporate making really good money, but I wasn’t happy. I continued to meet more people who were skilled in their craft and the idea came to me to create a digital media platform to help them tell their story. I began to carry a notebook around with me to collect ideas and really get the details outlined that were in my head. From the color scheme, to the mission statement, to the logo and down to the name, after about 9 months or so what you know as Supply Lab Media was created.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Growing up I was an athlete, I’ve played sports a major of my life. I played basketball, football and baseball from 4th grade up until college were I narrowed my focus down just to basketball. I also coached middle school, high school and college basketball at Moore Middle and High school as well as Berea College. I am laidback, very chill, I enjoy spending time with my family, listening to music, traveling, reading, taking pics and working out.
For Supply Lab, it is a new and efficient media outlet and platform that offers photography and videography services for individual or group creatives, entertainment media, sports, corporate and community events, and advertisements for small and large businesses. Supply Lab specializes in capturing and enhancing your overall vision by photographing the moments that matter to you.
What I feel sets me apart from others is that I love to connect with my clients. I create a questionnaire, mood board and always ask the purpose of the shoot to fully understand I execute the vision. I am most proud of my growth as a photographer and business owner. Going into year 5, one thing I learned early was the ability to coach and direct my clients during sessions, because that was something I struggled with at first. Supply Lab Media is all about creating an experience for each an every one of our clients. No matter which package they choose, my goal is to make each client feel as comfortable and confident as possible and supply the vibes.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Since I officially launched Supply Lab, I have had 3 photography studios that I was able to rent or lease. In 2022, I loss my photography studio due to the owner moving out of town and selling the property. At the time, I couldn’t afford to not have an indoor studio space to shoot so I had to figure something out. In February 2023, I reached out to another photographer in Louisville, who I followed on Instagram and truly admired their work. I knew she had her own studio so I inquired about renting her space for the reminder of the year. It turned out to be a great decision because she offered to mentor me as well. I locked in with her from February-November of 2o23 as our mentorship focused mainly one learning proper studio lighting and advanced frequency separation in photoshop. Once I mastered those new skillsets, I as able to really see a shift in my craft and how my images improved in such a short amount of time. We would meet at least twice a month and practice shooting a model or muse and edit our work immediately afterwards. I had to grow as a photographer if I wanted to get to where I truly wanted to be.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Honestly, it may sound corny but it’s been posting more on social media. Once, I stopped caring about how many likes I would get on a post or worry so much about the feedback and just posted to share my work or content, I noticed my followers and engagement grew very quickly. Something else, that helped my clientele grow was rebranding my website. I redesigned my website completely to make it more appealing, user friendly, engaging add more of my content for potential clientele to see. I also upgraded my crm platform which helped make my job alot easier, I was able to track my customer interactions, bookings, sales, advertisements and data analyze all in one place.
