Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Trenton Harris . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Trenton thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What’s the best or worst investment you’ve made (either in terms of time or money)? (Note, these responses are only intended as entertainment and shouldn’t be construed as investment advice)
The best investment I made was actually on myself. Investing in my craft was one of the hardest things to do coming right out of college. I decided I wanted to make feature films, but working in the film industry I wasn’t making enough money nor did I have a lot of time to do the things that I wanted to do. I would spend the little that I had to make a film that I just completed a couple weeks ago. That took me about 9 years of shooting and having to pay for it as well. It was hard because people didn’t believe in me as a director , but also hard before I didn’t have access to everything I would need to make a movie. I definitely struggled and my attitude didn’t help either. I was immature at that age and people wanted to stay away from me. It took falling on my butt a couple times for me to humble myself.
Trenton, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m most proud of being able to start a project from start finish. Not giving up when times get hard or when no one wants to help. I got in the film industry doing background work and then working my way on to different crews as a production Assistant. My true passion is writing and directing. I started in high school as a Bobbie and it stuck with me throughout college. What sets me apart from others is I’m going to make sure I give you a great story from start to finish.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
The goal is to create great content as a black man. I strive to be different by working with others who are like minded.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creative is being able to tell a cohesive story from start to finish. Working with other creatives is another rewarding experience for me as well.
