We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Trenton Anthony . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Trenton below.
Trenton, appreciate you joining us today. So, let’s start with a hypothetical – what would you change about the educational system?
I would for sure make sure that students were taught personal finance, credit, and consumer law, if not in high school, I’d make it mandatory for the first two years of college. When I learned these things it took my business and personal life to the next level.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
Well I began doing music around 12th grade with the group Team Next over 10 years ago. I didn’t actually start practicing the business aspect of it until about 6 years ago. I’m most proud of the impact I’ve been able to have on upcoming artists and the sense of hope I’ve been able to give people. I’m also proud of myself for learning the financial side and figuring out how to get funding for my music business, that was always a major hurdle for me and something I struggled with for years.
Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
I love talking about great books because they really changed my life, I’m gonna list three here so as to not be super long winded.
1. As a Man Thinketh
2. The Richest Man in Babylon
3. Think and Grow Rich
My first year in college, in my political science class, we were required to read the Allegory of the Cave (which I also recommend) & a small booklet called As a Man Thinketh by James Allen. I had no idea that this small booklet would open my mind up to a world that I had always subconsciously been aware of. The main premise is that your mind is similar to a garden, & the things you plant in that garden are what grows. Highly recommended reading.
The Richest Man in Babylon was a book I came across while studying personal finance. It’s a book that tells a story of a man who was able to become the richest man in his town despite coming from the same circumstances as his peers. It’s a very good book for someone trying to learn the basics of money management and investment.
Think and Grow Rich is probably the best known book on the list. This book is about what it takes in order to build yourself up for a successful life.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I feel like my whole journey has been one of resilience. After chipping away at something for 15 years and finally getting recognition around the 11th year, I’d say the whole story is about resilience. I went from doing house parties to festivals, have empowered several other artists, creatives and entrepreneurs, learned how to establish a career despite lacking certain resources and still am getting better with my craft everyday. Anything you want is out there and it’s possible to obtain, sometimes you just have to pass the test of time and put in effort that you didn’t even know you were capable of and you can do it, keep going.
