We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Tremontez Rose a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Tremontez thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – walk us through the story?
Around December 2021, I had the opportunity to meet an Investor who really liked my work ethic and what I was putting out. Although a bit hesitant in my abilities, I was given Capital and had the opportunity to show them how well their investment with me would play out. Confident in my abilities, I successfully was able to acquire 10 pairs of Cool Grey 11’s. In town during that time, there was an event called Sneaker Ball. There was a slight risk I had taken, that being I had come out of pocket to rent a table to sell these sneakers I had just gotten. Upon getting to Sneaker Ball and setting up my table, I had customers buying shoes off me no more than 15 from the START of the event! Not only that, but by the two hour mark, I was successful in selling mostly all my inventory + making the money I had spent back AND THEN some! Since the event, I have been fortunate enough to build a relationship with the founders of Sneaker Ball, who had taken interest in what I was doing so I had the opportunity to attend Sneaker Ball once more this past December!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I would like to preface that my brand, Mula Sneakers, not only specializes in just sneakers. We are a Lifestyle Brand that specializes in the production and manufacturing of Clothing and Sneaker Accessories with outside branches into the Entertainment Industry with Production as well as Distribution of Music.
Back when I started, it truly began with my love for sneakers and even beyond that, the community in itself. Growing up, I was from an area that didn’t really have the luxury of getting exclusive drops that other states or cities were able to partake in. I also didn’t have it like that, futher fueling the hunger of my hustle! As I grew older, I started to actually buy sneakers I liked, did further research, actually camped outside multiple stores stores for hours, entered in tons of raffles. Lastly, I really studied the endless rise and decline of the Market to see what’s popular compared to other shoes that might not be flying off shelves.
In addition, I also like to give back to the community by inviting them to Reselling Courses I offer, where I highlight many fiscal opportunities ranging from Kids who are passionate about sneakers and really want to get into selling, to an Adult who is interested in just making money outside their main sources of income!
I would like to announce my latest and most proudest news to present – I recently finalized the location of my first store serving the lovely people of the Dallas – Forth Worth Area! I highly encourage anyone reading this, that if you’re in town, to truly NOT pass up on this opportunity to experience our products, services, and customer service First-Hand!
A link to my Social Media will be tagged in this article – I highly encourage checking those out for any news regarding products or services.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
Around 2021, I had started to see the Sneaker Market declining – Not at an increasingly alarming rate – However, sales were slowing down for sure. This was when I decided to take a step back from selling both Sneakers & Merchandise to really focus on finding a consistent job to fund my business. It wasn’t until my brother, TJ, had been visiting California on a business trip when he had sent me pictures of these very detailed sneaker keychains. It was something that caught my eye so I decided to just buy 13 of them to see how sales would do. THEY. SOLD. FAST!
There was just one problem – Flying back and forth between California and Texas was costly. It was then that I decided to do my research and find a vendor who was able to not only supply me with what I needed, but was able to execute the vision I had in my head. I found the vendor and bought keychains in bulk. While some may say ‘’This is just a keychain’’, it’s really about the experience of what I am able to offer to my customers. Every individual keychain comes in it’s own box exclusive to what sneaker customers choose, included with a Rope Handle for extra security. What really made me start to focus ESPECIALLY on them was when I was at my first ever sneaker event. Many many sellers there, but to my surprise, everybody walking around didn’t really buy shoes – They bought MY keychains! This moment in my business career was not only a teaching moment but allowed me to not constrict myself to one form of what my business should consist of. To date, our sneaker keychains are the most popular item!

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
When it comes to growing your presence online, I advise three things:
First – Engaging with your Audience and Remaining Consistent with content whether that be in the form of Videos or Pictures.
Second – CREATE an Aesthetic to set you apart from others who may be doing the same thing you are.
Lastly – Did you know Videos are 600% more effective than using just words? Videos allow more traction to your page. More Views = Larger Diversity and Demograhics of audiences are reached!
