We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Treasur Wright a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, Treasur thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Are you happier as a creative? Do you sometimes think about what it would be like to just have a regular job? Can you talk to us about how you think through these emotions?

I am happy internally as a creative although it is a lot of work and very expensive working under someone doing something that doesn’t align with my passion is a much bigger price I pay in the end. The last thought I had based on this topic was what am I willing to give up to do what I love ?
And if I’m not willing to give up anything can I expect anything ? Because in all things there is sacrifice. It just depends which one you’re willing to make for your dream to be a reality.

Treasur, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

I got into the industry from my father who had me singing and learning amongst artists since I was a child in the church ministry. Growing into my own I signed to an independent label and inside of that I was on the radio eventually working for radio , opening up for industry artists, attending writing camps, going on tour , and creating content such as albums and music videos.

What sets me apart is my mindset. Separating emotional from business being a student and unafraid to learn what I don’t know. Being well rounded in both the working field and the industry applying knowledge from both with each other.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?

The most rewarding aspect of being a creative is simply finishing. As artists we have so many “shelved” projects or hidden ideas but to have enough courage to see it execute it with borderline perfection is unmatched joy.

How did you build your audience on social media?

My route in building my social media audience is attending to their entertainment. Not only am I singer I am a host of my own podcast as well as a model and actress. I coincide all these things with each other whether it’s taking a photo shoot I did and using it as cover art for my next single or shooting a music video for a theme song of my podcast all these things is artistry.
