We were lucky to catch up with Treá Allen recently and have shared our conversation below.
Treá, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?
That I was obedient to God and loved everyone the way God shows us to. That my kids and grandkids one day want to serve the same God that I do.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Treá Allen and I am a content creator and fashion stylist! At first it was a hobby while I worked in retail but about over a year ago I felt called to leave my 9-5 job and pursue it full time, and I can firmly say that I am doing my dream job. I work in the music industry as a touring content creator and also a wardrobe stylist and also creative directing for a fashion brand based in Nashville. My ultimate goal that I want all of my clients to experience is intentionality and discovering something new about themselves that they love, and walk away filling fulfilled and inspired to do what they love to do.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
When I first started as a full time freelancer, I started from ground zero. No business experience, nothing at all. But I knew I loved to create and was called to do it for a living. The beginning was rough, losing retainers because of cutbacks, financially not being stable, etc. But about 7 months in, a friend turned me on to the music industry and doing content creating for a couple of country artists. The main thing the artists I worked with said was that they love having my around and my character was unmatched. And my work spoke for itself. So I’m a firm believer that how you treat people is the most important, and your work will speak for itself. Im not the best at what I do but I love loving on people and showing them Christ.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
I think just being a good human, having good character, being easy to work with and being multifaceted are KET in growing your clientele.
