We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Travis White a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Travis, thanks for joining us today. Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?
It all started years ago, back when this little social media app called Tagged popped up on the scene. That’s where I first got my feet wet in the world of social media. But when MySpace came out, that’s when everything clicked. MySpace was my creative playground—a place where I could design, create, and showcase my own personal content in a way that truly made sense to me. It was like the wild west of digital creativity, and I was all in, learning the ropes of how to build a brand before I even knew what a brand was.
Fast forward to earning my degree in fashion, which laid the groundwork for understanding aesthetics, trends, and the art of storytelling through style. Then, landing in Los Angeles brought everything into focus. LA is where you either sink or swim, and let’s just say, I’ve been doing laps ever since.
If I could have sped up the process, I’d have told my younger self to embrace imperfection early on. Perfectionism is just fear wearing a fancy hat. Once I took it off, I really started to grow.
The skills that have been most essential? Resilience and adaptability, hands down. The digital and fashion worlds move at lightning speed, and you have to be ready to pivot on a dime while still staying true to your vision. And having a good dose of wit never hurts—it keeps things interesting and makes you stand out in a crowded space.
The biggest obstacle? My own mind. Overthinking was like quicksand, but every time I felt myself sinking, I pulled myself out with a new lesson learned. Every setback was really just a setup for the next level, and now, here I am—wiser, stronger, and with a lot more fire.
Travis, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My journey into the world of fashion and digital content creation started long before Instagram filters and TikTok trends. It began with a simple curiosity back in the days of Tagged, where I first dipped my toes into social media. But it was MySpace that truly ignited my creative spark. MySpace wasn’t just a platform—it was a canvas where I could design, create, and express myself in ways that felt uniquely “me.” That early experience laid the foundation for everything that came after.
With a degree in fashion, I deepened my understanding of aesthetics, trends, and how to tell a story through style. Fashion isn’t just about what you wear; it’s about how you show up in the world. And moving to Los Angeles? That was the catalyst. LA is a city that demands your best—where creativity meets hustle, and I’ve thrived in that mix ever since.
Today, I’m proud to be a fashion and lifestyle influencer, a digital storyteller, and a wellness advocate. My work ranges from styling and creating content to consulting on brand strategy and visual storytelling. I also have a deep love for veganism and supporting Black-owned and up-and-coming brands that align with my values. Whether it’s introducing my audience to the latest vegan hotspot in LA or showcasing independent brands that deserve the spotlight, I’m here to elevate the conversation.
What sets me apart is my ability to merge the whimsical and the real. My content is dreamy and fun but always with a touch of sarcasm and a strong undercurrent of authenticity. I’m not just curating a lifestyle—I’m living it, and that resonates with my followers who appreciate substance behind the style.
The thing I’m most proud of? It’s the community I’ve built. My followers aren’t just numbers; they’re part of a tribe that values creativity, authenticity, and staying true to who you are. If there’s one thing I want people to know about my brand, it’s that it’s rooted in passion and purpose. I’m here to inspire, to uplift, and to make sure everyone feels seen and celebrated.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creative is the freedom to bring my visions to life and watch them resonate with others. It’s that moment when an idea that started as a spark in my mind transforms into something tangible—a piece of content, a styled look, a brand collaboration—and then connects with someone out there on a deep, personal level. That’s pure magic.
Being a creative also means I get to challenge norms, push boundaries, and tell stories that might not otherwise be heard. Whether I’m showcasing a vegan brand that’s changing the game or bringing attention to a Black-owned business that deserves the spotlight, I’m not just creating content—I’m creating impact. And knowing that my work can inspire someone to think differently, feel something new, or make a conscious choice? That’s what makes it all worth it.
At the end of the day, it’s about more than just aesthetics or trends—it’s about creating something that leaves a lasting impression, something that matters. And when you see that ripple effect, when your work sparks conversations and builds community, that’s the most rewarding feeling in the world.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Well, of course! At the heart of my creative journey is a simple yet profound mission: to inspire authenticity and empower others to live their truth. I believe that creativity has the power to spark change—not just in how we see the world, but in how we move through it.
Whether I’m sharing my journey as a vegan influencer, highlighting brands that resonate with my values, or crafting content that pushes boundaries, my goal is always the same—to encourage people to think consciously, live boldly, and embrace who they truly are. I want my work to be a reminder that you can be stylish, successful, and socially responsible all at once.
It’s not just about creating for the sake of creating; it’s about making an impact. I want to leave a legacy that goes beyond the surface, one that starts conversations, builds communities, and leaves a lasting impression. My mission is to pave the way for a new generation of creatives who aren’t afraid to break the mold, who are passionate about what they do, and who use their platforms to make the world a better place.
If my work can inspire even one person to live their truth and follow their passion, then I’ve done what I set out to do.
