We were lucky to catch up with Traveling Troy recently and have shared our conversation below.
Traveling, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
A friend contacted me a while back asking me to collaborate on a few projects. He was recently coming out of a music hiatus after having been dealing with being a nurse during recent years. He is a guitarist/producer who unbeknownst to him reached out to me when I was unsure what was next for me as far as a career path.
Our first song hit 20,000 streams in a week fast forward to now and we’re now being invited to various stages and platforms across America. We both originally stepped away from music in pursuit of other endeavors, but to organically fall back into it is what is probably the most meaningful part for me. While it’s not my project solely, it’s continuing to open doors organically.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
Originally a graphic designer, I’ve found myself wanting to feed my creative needs or my need to express myself creatively through personal art. I jumped into the graphic designing market right out of college, and have been at it for about 12+ years.
Being able to help people was initially one of the biggest reasons I jumped into the industry. While I very much still navigate graphic design and other creative endeavors, I’ve found myself in the middle of a shift or craving something new creatively. At the beginning of August, I was invited to perform on stage for the first time as a recording artist and share a space with other artists which reignited and inspired me. That has led to opportunities across the United States to perform at shows and festivals of all sorts.
My artist’s name is Traveling Troy, but most don’t associate it with music. Most people meet me providing the service of creativity. However, the most unique part of this is I still am able to maintain the relationship with clients. While exploring these new opportunities that have sprung up on me.
Some of the services I offer still are graphic design, photography, videography, web design, and printing.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Creating something from what seems like nothing, and being able to move someone to feel so much or at least something out of the “nothing” you created with.
Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
Mindfulness – Gill Hasson
This book taught me about my presence and how I navigate it. How we manage our daily is vital, and after reading this book I realized how we’re constantly reworking a yesterday or preparing for a tomorrow. The book helped me realign with my ability to remain present from moment to moment.
