We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Trap Healthy. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Trap below.
Hi Trap, thanks for joining us today. So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?
TrapHealthy comes from being in a situation you want out of. And it’s more than just a brand name, it’s a lifestyle. My job was my first trap. A place I really did not want to be at but I had to do what I needed to get to the next level. The job sometimes comes with negative energy. You can’t match that and go up. This is where TrappinHealthy comes. You have to be the light in the dark. So now the world is my trap and everywhere I’m TrappinHealthy.
Trap, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
From always creating music you eventually want your own merch with your name or logo on it. When I got the chance to own a vinyl cutter I started making merch for the people I was making music with. I soon wanted to start my own and started TrapHealthy. So as time goes and growing my skills with vinyl cutter, I’m thinking about the brands future and what branches I might need to grow the brand. The next branch to grow was photography. I bought a camera and quickly started to find my lane in photography. As time when on and I traveled with my camera I practiced in many different areas of photography but business photography is what I grow to focus on more. So while doing that and still building the brand I learned marketing, advertising along with video production. I got a chance work with a podcast called The Let’s Ketchup Podcast for about a year while at the same time working with a trading groups learning about trading and investing.
Fast forward I go back to focusing on my own brand and adventure more into clothing production. I got with a few groups of people that was and still are perfecting their screen printing skill. I’ve learned the process but haven’t mastered it yet. Not to long later a friend interduce me to the opportunity of owning an embroidery machine. From investing and learning to build credit I was in a good position to take that opportunity to level up my production.
This is a long journey but what I’m most proud of is having an idea an fully committing to it. TrapHealhy is my life. Some of the ideas I have for the brand I HAVE to do certain activities because I WANT to get to the next level. Not everything is enjoyable but with every task I don’t want to do I see as a challenge. While conquering a challenge you get more comfortable with being in uncomfortable situations. You get better with navigating within unknown/dark areas but when you reach the end and see the light, the lessons you gained from reaching the end and not giving up is everything you’ll need to reach your next levels of life.
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
The internet is always a good source for new clients from the social sites to actually being in the metaverse. For me personally I feel my best source has always been actually being outside where ever I’m currently living at. Not just going downtown or popular areas but making sure every person I speak to from the homeless to workers at restaurants to business owners you may sit next to at the bar to every elder I cross paths with that they get a piece of this TrapHealthy vibe. Even if I don’t bring up what I do, the brand name or may not be wearing any merch they will later in life see the brand or me with the brand and farther understand this Trappin Healthy vibe.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
So with actually being outside and being one with the people. I’m always looking for good people that I feel share my TrapHealthy vibe. Defiantly those who are in areas that I enjoy but don’t have interest in tapping into at the moment or at all. For example I have a good friend that I respect named Dustin Dragon. A very good person, skateboarder and someone I think is top of his class. So of course I will offer him free clothing even though he still pays, I don’t mind giving him new and exclusive merch to skate in.
He also post more online than I do so when he post his people will see him and what he’s wearing. When I repost my people will see him and that others support the brand. But for me personally it’s just I enjoy when I get online and see my friends or the people I respect doing what they do in clothing that I personally produced just all started with an idea. Just that gives me a big joy and motivation to keep going and keep Trappin Healthy.
