TRANSMiT, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?

We want to be remembered for creating genuine music that people can connect with.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

We are a band called TRANSMiT created by Ben Roberson (Bass), Nate Druen (Drums), Matt Holmen (Guitar/Vocals), and Stef Alexiou (Guitar/Vocals). The four of us met as music teachers working for the same company. It started with a late night jam session after work that turned into talks of starting a band & making songs together. We all come from different musical backgrounds including Post-Punk, Motown, Metal, and Drum & Bass with a common ground in Classic Rock. This all contributes to the unique, genre-blending sound of our band. A TRANSMiT song usually starts in Stef’s bedroom with an acoustic guitar and mumbled melodies. Once there’s a tangible idea, he takes it to the rehearsal room where Ben, Matt, and Nate all add their personal flare and ideas to each element of the song. We have since released our debut single “Ice Age” and have many more songs on the way.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

It can be hard to find shows to play, but we continue to rehearse and record songs so we can release them for anyone to hear what we’re about.
