Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Tranifer Lovely. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Tranifer, appreciate you joining us today. Parents can play a significant role in affecting how our lives and careers turn out – and so we think it’s important to look back and have conversations about what our parents did that affected us positive (or negatively) so that we can learn from the billions of experiences in each generation. What’s something you feel your parents did right that impacted you positively.
My mother has been an artist my whole life, and working as a full time artist for most of that time. I learned at an early age that it is possible to follow your dreams and make your passion into a career. I am very very grateful for her willingness to nurture my creative endeavors.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am a watercolor artist, residing deep in the woods of Maine. My art has been described as whimsical and fun, taking inspiration from naturalism and old children’s books, I love rooting everything in nature, while still adding a twist of magic into the mix. Critters with butterfly wings, a cute sheet ghost on a woodland stroll, a raccoon helping himself to some cookies.
I have been creating art my entire life, and selling various forms of art since I was a teen. When the pandemic hit and I was out of work for an extended period of time, I decided to put all of my focus and energy into my creative work, and it panned out for me beautifully. Now I am working my dream full time, and couldn’t be happier.
On top of the regular animal art I offer, I also love ordering pet portraits and memorials for my clients. There is nothing more touching to me than helping someone bring their loved one back in some small way, and help them on their healing journey. Though it is not the bulk of my work, and often goes on behind the scenes, it is the work that I am most proud of.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I spent several (many) years working on building up my socials following, and let me tell you, it is grueling work! Consistency is key. Post daily, twice if possible, and do it at the same time daily. And one thing people don’t mention often is you need to live in those comments! Respond to everyone if possible, it makes an impact on your followers. And don’t be too hard on yourself! The algorithm is a tricky beast to tame.

Do you sell on your site, or do you use a platform like Amazon, Etsy, Cratejoy, etc?
I sell on Etsy, and have been a seller on there on and off since 2008. I have seen them go through many changes, and watched the platform grow into what it is today. I chose Etsy over selling strictly on my own site because of the additional exposure and clients they bring directly to your shop. Nobody does marketing like Etsy!
However, their fees are quite steep and their seller app no longer support full interface/functionality of the site, which is frustrating for those of us who like to manage on the go.
