We recently connected with Trammie Nguyen and have shared our conversation below.
Trammie, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
I was a little immigrant girl who came to America to have a better future. I grew up in one of the worst Philly neighborhood. I was raised by my grandma and my mother with very little income. I lacked a father figure because my dad was schizophrenic and addicted to drugs and was abusive to my mom. He left when I was very young.
Despite Growing up in this traumatic childhood environment, I was not deterred from wanting better things in life. I refused to become a statistic and be molded into a scarcity mindset. I trained my brains to believe in myself and never be afraid to try for anything I put my mind to.
I focused on school and excelled. I graduated with Distinguished Honors bachelors of science within 3 1/2 years and went on to obtain my masters of physician assistant studies. I worked in various medical fields including interventional, radiology, hospital, medicine, preadmission testing, classic and reconstructive surgery, and cardiology.
I also had an entrepreneurial business goal to be my own boss. I started working at 8 years old. I had various jobs such as babysitting, working in factories and waitressing while I was in school. While working full-time as a physician Assistant, took a big leap of faith and opened two successful nail salons. But I always yearned to continue to grow more.
During the pandemic, I lost my grandmom from Covid, and my husband was severely ill and needed to be hospitalized. Although, I’m proud to be healthcare worker, I realized during this time that life is too short and I do want to spend more time with my family.
I wanted to find ways in which I can produce more passive income and hopefully retire early to accomplish my goals of creating abundance, generational wealth for my kids, retire, early, and have more time to spend with my family.
This led me onto learning more about real estate investing. Once again, I was not risk adversed and jumped right into it. Within two years, I flipped a house and profited and also started my Airbnb business with my husband.
Although I feel, I have achieved a lot so far in my life, I still feel there’s more room to grow at all times. I am now working towards opening my Medspa, where I can create my own schedule and continue to expand my real estate business. I opened a nail salon because I’ve always been interested in the beauty industry. I worked with a plastic surgeon and injected botox and fillers and performed laser procedures beginning in 2006. I want to do all of that now with my own business. My med spa will enable me to make patients look as young as they feel and boost their confidence with the procedures I offer.
Of all my achievements, Perhaps one of my best prized goal is marrying my husband and having three beautiful kids.
I guess the moral of my story is you can only fail if you don’t try. Always Believe in yourself and never be afraid of taking risks because you never know what you’re capable of.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I worked with a plastic surgeon and injected botox and fillers and performed laser procedures beginning in 2006 when botox and fillers just started coming into the market.

If you could go back, would you choose the same profession, specialty, etc.?
Although I have a deep entrepreneurial spirit, I am so happy in my decision to becoming a physician assistant because I was able to practice in different fields of medicine.
Choosing the medical profession as a physician assistant has been immensely gratifying. This role allows me to directly impact patients’ lives, fostering a sense of purpose and fulfillment. The constant learning and collaboration with other healthcare professionals contribute to my professional growth. Guiding patients through their healthcare journeys and witnessing their improved well-being reinforces the profound satisfaction that comes with being a physician assistant.
And now my role as physician assistant provider in my med spa will enable me to make patients look as young as they feel and boost their confidence with the procedures I offer.
Other than training/knowledge, what do you think is most helpful for succeeding in your field?
In the medical aesthetic industry, besides training and knowledge, effective communication skills and a keen understanding of individual patient needs play a crucial role. Building trust and establishing a strong rapport with patients fosters a positive experience.
One of my positive attributes is flexibility. In addition to, staying attuned to industry trends, I can easily adapt to new technologies and new products. This alone will significantly increase my success in this dynamic field.
