Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Tracylyn Caprioni-sorensen. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Tracylyn, thanks for joining us today. Have you been able to earn a full-time living from your creative work? If so, can you walk us through your journey and how you made it happen? Was it like that from day one? If not, what were some of the major steps and milestones and do you think you could have sped up the process somehow knowing what you know now?
Yes, I’ve been able to earn a full-time living from my creative work, but it was definitely a journey to get here. It wasn’t like this from day one, and I’ve had my fair share of pivots and lessons learned along the way. For a long time, I felt like I was always serving others—literally and figuratively. I worked as a server and bartender for years, and I also worked as an executive assistant for a Department of Defense contracting CEO and later a pharmaceutical CEO. While those roles taught me discipline and problem-solving, they didn’t feed my creativity, and I knew I wanted more.
The idea of leaving stable jobs to bet on myself was terrifying. I’d gotten so used to putting others’ needs first that it felt unnatural to prioritize my own dreams. But I decided to take the leap, moving across the country to Los Angeles to pursue a more fulfilling path.
When the pandemic hit, like so many others, I found myself craving connection and a way to process everything happening around me. I turned back to the creative world as an outlet for self-expression, leaning into social media and content creation as a way to share my voice and tell stories. That decision reignited my passion and opened the door to the multifaceted career I have today.
Training at UCB (Upright Citizens Brigade) gave me the confidence and tools to tap into my humor and storytelling, which became the foundation of my creative career.
Today, I’m proud to say I’ve built a career that’s both creative and hands on. I’m a full-time TikTok host for a huge brand, UGC creator, singer, and actress, and I also manage social media accounts for clients. What makes my approach unique in the social media management world is that I don’t outsource anything. I personally handle everything from strategy to content creation to engagement. My approach allows me to deliver consistent, high-quality results, which has helped me stand out in a competitive field.
Of course, the road wasn’t easy. Leaving a steady paycheck behind to build something uncertain felt risky, but I’ve hit milestones that made it all worth it—like landing consistent brand partnerships, negotiating better rates, and diversifying my income streams.
Looking back, I wish I’d taken the leap sooner. It’s easy to stay in jobs that feel safe, even when they don’t serve you. But taking chances, like moving cross-country and learning to advocate for myself, has made all the difference. Every step, whether it was serving tables or serving CEOs—taught me something valuable. And while betting on myself was scary, it’s been the most rewarding thing I’ve ever done.

Tracylyn, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m Tracylyn, a full-time on-air host, content creator, singer and actress living in Los Angeles. My journey into the creative world has been anything but ordinary. It has been filled with leaps of faith, resilience, and a commitment to staying true to myself. I’m originally from New Jersey, with Italian and Mexican heritage, which has shaped my vibrant personality and grounded me in a strong sense of community and storytelling.
During the pandemic, I returned to creativity as a way to process the world around me and connect with others. Social media became my outlet, and my relatable, crazy, and often helpful stories started resonating with an audience. Whether it’s exposing an Airbnb host on camera breaking into my rental to attempt a kidnapping, becoming a detective for a former employer, or sharing life lessons, I’ve learned that my authenticity and humor are what truly connect with people.
Today, I specialize in social media content creation, TikTok hosting, and social media management for clients. What sets me apart is that I handle every aspect of social media management myself without outsourcing any tasks. This means my clients receive a highly personalized approach that reflects their voice and goals. For brands, I create relatable, skit-style campaigns that don’t just sell products; they tell stories that leave an impact.
What I’m most proud of is the trust I’ve built with my audience and clients. My followers know they will always get the real me—unfiltered, engaging, and here to help or entertain. My clients know I will go above and beyond to bring their vision to life, whether it’s through a viral campaign or managing their social presence with the same care I give my own.
If there is one thing I want people to know about me and my brand, it’s that everything I do comes from a place of passion and purpose. I’ve learned to embrace the unexpected and turn life’s challenges into opportunities to connect, create, and inspire. Whether you’re here for my stories, my creative work, or my services, you are part of a community where authenticity and creativity always come first.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
One of the most defining moments of my journey, and a true testament to my resilience, was when I moved to Los Angeles. At the time, I had booked a series in NYC, and for the second season, production informed me I needed to relocate to Burbank, CA, as their main production would be there. With barely a week to plan, I flew across the country alone, signed a lease on an apartment in LA, and uprooted my entire life to follow my dream.
It felt like everything I’d worked for was falling into place…until it wasn’t. Within two weeks of moving, the production lost its budget, and the show was canceled. I was completely blindsided. I had left everything behind, and now I was in a new city, without the opportunity that had brought me here in the first place.
Thankfully, my contract included six months of rent to cover my relocation, which gave me a cushion to figure out my next steps. Despite the disappointment, I couldn’t shake the feeling that I was meant to be here. Instead of packing up and leaving, I stayed. I knew starting over in LA wouldn’t be easy, but I also knew it was an opportunity to build something even greater.
That moment taught me so much about resilience. It’s not just about bouncing back. It’s about finding purpose even when things don’t go as planned. Moving to LA felt like a leap of faith, and while the initial reason didn’t pan out, it set me on a path to discovering new opportunities, growing as a creator, and building the career I have today. It was a tough start, but it reinforced my belief in myself and my ability to adapt and thrive.

How did you build your audience on social media?
I built my audience on social media by learning to stop worrying about what others thought and instead leaning into my authentic self. I realized people connect most when I share the crazy, relatable, and helpful stories that seem to happen to me daily. At first, I was hesitant to be so open, but once I embraced it, I found my honesty resonated with others in ways I never imagined.
I’ve always felt like things happen to me because I’m strong enough to navigate them and share those experiences to help others. One of the most intense examples was when I caught my Airbnb host breaking into my rental. I travel with a camera for safety, and it recorded him going through my personal belongings, including my passport. It was terrifying, but by sharing the video, I brought attention to an issue many didn’t realize: Airbnb does not conduct background checks on hosts in some countries. I also exposed that specific listing, potentially protecting others from the same danger.
Moments like this taught me that being vulnerable and sharing my experiences…no matter how shocking…can make a real impact. My audience trusts me not just because I entertain them, but because I shed light on important issues and help them navigate challenges they might not see coming.
For anyone just starting to build their social media presence, my advice is simple: Be real. Share your truth, even when it’s messy or scary, because your unique perspective is what will connect you with others. People value authenticity and transparency, so trust that your audience will find you when you show up as your true self.
