Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Tracy Shaw. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Tracy , appreciate you joining us today. Do you take vacations? How do you keep things going – any advice for entrepreneurs who feel like they can’t step away from their business for a short vacation?
Absolutely! Now that the kids (and my husband and I) are getting older, I have found that I have this strange NEED to vacation. Don’t get me wrong, we have always done it and always enjoyed it. But, my son is a senior this year and I feel like I have this clicking clock that is constantly telling me that I have limited time with the kids. I also feel like I have to make mini-vacations for just my husband and I a priority, soon we will be empty-nesters and we have to know we still like each other!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Fourteen years ago I was sitting in the doctor’s office with my daughter wondering what purpose I had besides being a mom. Now, a MOM is the absolute most important thing I do and will always do, but I left a management position to be a stay-at-home mom, I talked to people (adults) all day, and I started to miss that. I thumbed through a magazine and read about Mommy Blogs. That day I started one and started sharing my story and my passion for saving money. I wanted to help others stay home if they wanted to. I started going to church groups, mom groups and play dates helping others save on their groceries. From there I started showing families how to cook cost-effective, and healthy-ish meals with those groceries. As time went on, so did my interests and I created FoodWineSunshine.com where I share my passion for healthy food, wine and travel. One of my long-term clients emailed over 1.5 years ago and asked me if I knew anyone that was interested in Digital Marketing, I applied and here I am today! Working three full-time jobs and hopefully still inspiring to eat healthy and have a little fun in the process.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I truly appreciate farmers. Like, what they do for us is absolutely incredible. Have you ever thought about it? I mean, I know the whole “Farm to Table” movement is becoming more and more popular, but when you sit down to eat your meal, do you think about the hard-working men and women that made your meal possible? You probably don’t…not many do. But I do. When I think about the passion farmers have…the complete selflessness they have to feed people they have never met is absolutely mind-blowing to me. It gives me goose bumps!!!!!
Because of this true appreciation, my biggest partners are farmers. I feel like they can see that I do actually care.

How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
Email, call, social media…Do it all! think of your clients as your friend. And if you don’t see them as your friend…ten they probably shouldn’t be your client….
