Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Tracy Leonetti. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Tracy, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you tell us about a time where you or your team really helped a customer get an amazing result?
At LBS, we’ve spent years helping clients from all over the world make their dream life in France a reality. Each nationality brings unique challenges, but one story that stands out is that of David and Marie. Over an 18-month journey, we guided them through a series of complex steps: obtaining business visas, renting an apartment, finding their forever home, setting up a business, renewing visas, and even managing business paperwork. It was a lot, yes—but for the LBS team, it’s all in a year’s work.
David and Marie always envisioned France as their final destination.
In 2023, they decided it was time to turn that vision into reality. But the road was full of hurdles: What if they couldn’t get their visas? Where should they even start? Through a recommendation, they found LBS, and we’re proud to have played a key role in helping them achieve their dream of living their best life in France. We worked hand in hand with them over 18 months :
Business visa for David
Visitors visa for Marie
Rental property to start their journey
Found their dream home to buy
Set up David’s business
Exchanges their driving licences for French ones
Managed David’s business documents
Renewed their visas
All of their story can be found on my website : https://www.lbsinfrance.com/beyond-the-horizon-pursuing-the-american-dream-in-france

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Tracy Leonetti, and I’m originally from Yorkshire in the United Kingdom. Over two decades ago, I moved to France with my young child in search of a better life. What followed were two challenging years navigating unfamiliar systems and processes.
After a successful corporate career, I decided it was time to follow a new path—one driven by purpose. In 2012, I founded LBS with a clear mission: to help individuals and families move to, live in, and build their lives and businesses in France.
At LBS, we pride ourselves on being a true one-stop shop. Unlike many relocation companies that refer clients to third parties, we are a hands-on team of four who carry out the work ourselves. Of course, when needed, we collaborate with trusted specialists in areas like financial services or real estate.
Our clients’ journeys typically begin with a personal Residency & Relocation Planning Meeting with me. This session is designed to clarify goals, outline timelines, and break down the steps involved. From there, we build customized relocation packages tailored to each client’s needs and budget, including:
Visa and immigration services
Home finding assistance
Healthcare registration and Carte Vitale
Driving license exchanges
Business creation and management
Residency card renewals
Tax declarations
Pension and benefit applications
Schooling support
…and so much more, depending on your unique situation.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
The most effective strategy for growing our clientele has been simple but powerful: delivering on what we promise. This has led to nearly all our new clients coming through word-of-mouth recommendations. When we complete a client’s file, we also ask for a testimonial—which we then use in our marketing. The feedback consistently reflects how satisfied our clients are with the quality of our service.
In any business, if you consistently provide excellent service, your clients will become your best marketers—you just need to amplify their voices.
Reputation is everything. It not only brings in new clients but helps maintain strong relationships with existing ones. That’s why, in 2016, I launched the Serenity Club—a service designed to support our ongoing clients by offering peace of mind with their ongoing French paperwork and administrative needs

Any advice for managing a team?
My advice for managing a team and maintaining high morale is rooted in one core belief: every team member holds value. No one is more important than anyone else, and everyone plays a vital role in the success of the business.
I believe success should be shared—both verbally and financially. Recognition goes a long way, and when the team thrives, everyone should feel the reward.
Trust is essential. Micromanagement stifles growth, so I make it a point to trust my team to find solutions, while also being available to support their learning and development.
It’s also important to connect outside the office—holding meetings in beautiful settings like hotels or restaurants helps build relationships and create a more relaxed, open environment.
I make a point of sharing both the highs and lows of the business. When your team understands their impact, they feel more invested and connected to the bigger picture.
And when mistakes happen, I don’t believe in blame. Instead, I ask: What went wrong? Why do you think it happened? And what can we do better next time?
A happy, respected team is a productive one. Work with your team, not above them—share the journey, celebrate the wins, and learn from the losses together
