We recently connected with Tracy Corwin and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Tracy, thanks for joining us today. Naming anything – including a business – is so hard. Right? What’s the story behind how you came up with the name of your brand?
When I founded Restore Beauty Wig Studio, the name was inspired by the transformation I have witnessed in countless women over my 22 years in this business. The “Restore” in our name reflects the renewed confidence and beauty that women experience when they decide to replace lost hair with one of our wigs or hair toppers. Each time a client walks out of our studio feeling more confident and beautiful, it fuels my passion for designing the most comfortable and natural-looking hairpieces. My goal has always been to help women rediscover their self-assurance and embrace their beauty with confidence.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Hey there! I’m Tracy, the heart and soul behind Restore Beauty Wig Studio. I’m a proud mom to two wonderful grown men and a fur mom to Sherman, my 140-pound Cane Corso who hilariously believes he’s a lap dog. In 2021, I tied the knot with my soulmate, David, adding a beautiful chapter to my life story. Together, we’re navigating the exhilarating and sometimes tumultuous waters of running two businesses as newlyweds—a journey that has been as challenging as it is rewarding.
Life’s thrown its fair share of curveballs my way, but about 22 years ago, I discovered the enchanting world of wigs while working at a salon. The moment I tried one on, I was mesmerized—the transformation and the surge of confidence were nothing short of magical. It was in that instant that I knew I had found my calling.
That aha moment ignited a passion in me to make a difference in women’s lives. For over two decades, I’ve dedicated myself to bringing radiant smiles and restoring confidence by finding the perfect hair loss solutions for each unique individual. Recently, I took the plunge and launched my own studio, where I’m also designing my own line of human hair wigs and hair toppers. It’s been a dream come true to create pieces that not only look natural but also feel incredibly comfortable.
The journey of entrepreneurship has been as challenging as it has been rewarding, pushing me to grow in ways I never thought possible. My word for this year is “capable,” and my mission is to build a thriving business where women can rediscover their confidence and restore their inner and outer beauty with our wigs and toppers. I believe every woman deserves to feel beautiful and confident, and at Restore Beauty Wig Studio, that’s exactly what we aim to achieve.

How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
I have always believed that my clients are the heart and soul of my business. Without them, Restore Beauty Wig Studio wouldn’t exist. Building and nourishing relationships with my clients is essential, not just for fostering loyalty, but for creating a sense of family and community.
Most of my clients are women experiencing devastating hair loss. They often feel isolated and powerless in their situation. While I can’t erase their hair loss, I can offer a solution that helps them regain a sense of normalcy and control. The transformation that a well-fitted wig or hair topper can bring is profound—it allows these women to see themselves as they wish to be seen, and that confidence is invaluable.
One of my long-time clients and dear friends, Sondra Dubas, has been with me for 17 years. Together, we co-founded a support group for women with hair loss called “Restore Confidence”. This one-of-a-kind group meets monthly and provides a safe, welcoming space for women to connect with others who understand their journey. It’s a place where they can share their experiences, support one another, and feel less alone.
I believe in the power of community and the strength that comes from shared experiences. By creating an environment of support and understanding, we empower each other. This sense of belonging not only fosters brand loyalty but also builds an empowering community for anyone struggling with hair loss. At Restore Beauty Wig Studio, we’re not just about replacing hair; we’re about restoring confidence, one woman at a time.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
My Pivotal Year: 2022
Well, 2022 was a turning point in my life. I was overwhelmed with stress from my job of over 20 years, and my body finally said, “Enough!” I suffered a mild Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection (SCAD)—a rare and unusual type of heart attack.
It all started on a Saturday when I wasn’t feeling well. I assumed I was just tired from a stressful business trip earlier in the week. I felt a heavy sensation in my chest, not quite painful but definitely uncomfortable. I decided to lie down, thinking maybe I had overdone it by pulling up the carpet in our spare bedroom. I convinced myself I just needed a bit of rest. But as soon as I lay down on the couch, I knew something was seriously wrong. My left arm started to hurt, the pain radiated down my arm, and the pressure in my chest intensified painfully.
I told my husband I needed to go to the hospital immediately. He rushed me there, and they took me straight back for evaluation. My blood pressure was sky-high, and they hooked me up to heart monitors. I felt my heart doing a flip-flop in my chest, like it was rolling over, and the pressure was mounting. The monitors started going off, and the doctor came running in, calling for the crash cart! My world was flashing before my eyes. My son was in the room, and all I could think was, “No, do not let him see me die!” That was my worst fear.
I was awake for the entire episode. Once I was stabilized, they transported me to another hospital for an angiogram to locate the blockage. It turned out there wasn’t a typical blockage from plaque—I had no plaque buildup in my arteries. It was a rare condition called SCAD. The recovery was tough, and I had to learn how to trust my body again. I decided to make significant lifestyle changes to prevent this from happening again.
This experience made me realize that the stressful job I was pouring my heart and soul into was literally killing me. After taking a few months off, I decided it was best to leave my position and try something new. My husband had purchased an insurance agency that year, and we thought I could work in the office and learn the business. I did, and I enjoyed it for the most part, but my heart kept calling me back to my true passion: helping women.
My calling is helping women struggling with hair loss regain their confidence and feel beautiful again. And that’s when Restore Beauty Wig Studio was conceived in my mind. I had no idea how to start, but I had faith that if you build it, they will come! It takes more than faith and a vision to grow a business, but every step of this journey has been a success. The growth I’ve seen in myself is amazing, and I am so proud of what I have accomplished. I owe a tremendous amount of gratitude to my wonderful clients for all their support.
There are days when I wonder how I’ll keep going, but then another client calls, needing help, and it fuels my desire to make a difference in their lives. It hasn’t been easy, but I have tremendous support from my husband David, family, and friends who want to see me succeed. Their support, combined with my passion, keeps me moving forward every day.
