Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Traci Laster. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Traci, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What do you think it takes to be successful?

I feel that success takes motivation and balance. Educating yourself is equally important to progress in your field.

Traci, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

I’ve been a hairstylist for almost 30 years. Back then, most places in my area were known as “beauty shops” I wanted to be more than that! I started out as a booth renter, had a partnership, back to booth rental and for the last three years I’ve had my own space where I work alone.

This allows me to spend one on one time with clients and offer my best services without all the distractions.

I work with some top brands including Olaplex and Sustainable Glam. My goal is to give my clients healthy beautiful hair!

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?

About 12 years ago, I gave up a partnership in a salon. It was a move I needed to make in order to be more present for my boys.

How did you build your audience on social media?

I’m still building..I think in order to be relevant, you have to be consistent. Remember I started out a long time ago when we handed out business cards! Oh how amazing it would have been to have social media then.
