Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Tracey Thomas. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Tracey, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Parents play a huge role in our development as youngsters and sometimes that impact follows us into adulthood and into our lives and careers. Looking back, what’s something you think you parents did right?
Reflecting on my journey, I often consider the incredible foundation laid by my family. Each member brought unique insights and values that shaped the person I am today.
My parents, in particular, imparted lessons that continue to guide me in life and business. My father instilled in me the spirit of entrepreneurship, creativity, and risk-taking. He showed me that success often comes from stepping outside your comfort zone and thinking outside the box.
My mother, on the other hand, taught me the importance of style and fashion. She understood that the way we present ourselves speaks volumes, and she showed me how to make an impression without saying a word.
Beyond my parents, other family members played pivotal roles in my growth. My aunt taught me the value of management and real estate investment, equipping me with practical skills for building wealth and sustainability. My grandmother, a treasure trove of wisdom, passed down the recipes for Island Magic and inspired my interest in aromatherapy, sparking a deep appreciation for natural remedies and holistic living.
Their collective guidance has allowed me to blend tradition, creativity, and practicality in my endeavors, creating a life and business that feel deeply rooted in love, culture, and purpose. This legacy is a testament to what family can achieve when they invest in their children’s future.
Tracey, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
How Island Magic Came to Life
For those unfamiliar with Island Magic, my journey into business is rooted in a love for natural remedies and cultural heritage. Growing up, I was surrounded by the wisdom of my grandmother, who shared her recipes for handcrafted soaps, skincare, and aromatherapy products. I studied the use of herbs in her magical garden and vast lhome library. Those early lessons became the foundation of Island Magic, a brand that honors tradition while solving modern skincare challenges.
Island Magic offers a range of handmade soaps, skin and hair products, and aromatherapy solutions inspired by my Jamaican heritage. Every product is crafted with care, using natural ingredients like eucalyptus, honeysuckle, and other botanicals that not only nourish the skin but also soothe the soul.
We focus on solving common skincare concerns such as eczema, mature skin, acne, dehydrated skin in addition to other issues.
Our products are designed with sensitive skin in mind, offering gentle yet effective solutions. Beyond skincare, we create sensory experiences through our aromatherapy line, helping clients relax and recharge.
What sets Island Magic apart is our commitment to listening to our clients. Every product or service we provide is tailored to meet real needs, blending traditional recipes with modern innovations. Our goal is simple: to bring a little magic to your everyday routine while addressing the challenges that come with maintaining healthy skin and well-being.
Island Magic isn’t just a business—it’s a labor of love, a celebration of heritage, and a commitment to creating solutions that truly make a difference.

Resilience Through Challenges
Building Island Magic hasn’t always been easy, especially while navigating personal health challenges. There were times when I felt overwhelmed, but my passion for creating natural, effective products kept me going.
I leaned on my family’s lessons—creativity, resourcefulness, and determination—to push through tough days. Instead of slowing down, I used those moments to refine my craft, deepen my commitment to quality, and stay connected with my clients.
Through it all, resilience became my foundation, proving that challenges can lead to growth and strength when fueled by purpose and passion.
