We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Tracey Rush a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Tracey, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What was it like going from idea to execution? Can you share some of the backstory and some of the major steps or milestones?

I started out as a rap artist. In 2016 I began to announce for a company called Race Texas along side my best friend Damon Walker who was at DJ at the time. We created a playlist and encouraged the participators during the races. After a while Damon was offered an opportunity to further is career so he offered to teach me the basics of being a DJ to fulfill his remaining contracts. I accompanied him at a wedding that same year to get familiar with conducting events as a DJ. I used my artist name and became DJ SlimGoldy. From then on I have continued to DJ while working on my craft. Coming from a artist background I already had a strong music background so song selection came easy. After getting a few gigs under my belt I began to make a name for myself as a DJ. I have as always had a professional approach so it was easy to incorporate this into my craft. My wife Sierra Rush has always supported my decision to become a DJ. As she had aspirations to launch a mobile bartending company. I thought this was a great idea and would work well with what I was already doing so I endorsed it. She named it Rush Hour Mobile Bartending. And I used this as the forefront and offered DJ services as an addition and business increased rapidly after this. She is the brains behind the bartending business and I the brains of the DJ side of the business. We have been very blessed and a lot of doors have opened since merging the two.

Tracey, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

For potential clients, Rush Hour Mobile Bartending is a dry hire mobile bartending company. We provide a luxury and unique experience to every event. DJ SlimGoldy provides DJ services and caters to all genres such as hip hop, r&b, county, pop, Spanish, reggaeton, gospel, and more. Services can be rendered together or separate. To describe the two in one word is simply “professionalism”. What sets us apart from others is that you have the option to bundle both services and also add decor from CJ’S Creation and treats from Sweets By Jasla. Our packages are created to facilitate each clients personal needs.

How’d you meet your business partner?

My wife Sierra and I were high school sweethearts so we’ve always had a connection. She has always had my best interest and has always giving genuine advice. So becoming my business partner was unquestionable.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?

Networking! We have built loyal clients by consistently advertising, participating in community events, and giving back in appreciation of our clientele.
