We were lucky to catch up with Toy High recently and have shared our conversation below.

Toy, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to start by getting your thoughts on what you are seeing as some the biggest trends emerging in your industry.

The biggest trends that I am seeing lately are a lot more creative and influential business start ups and entrepreneurs! The creative content that I am seeing more and more across social media platforms in regards to photographers, videographers, artist of all platforms! The creative ways that myself, along with a plethora of other’s are finding and coming up with a variety of ways to promote themselves. I am oh so inspired by so many that do it so elegantly eye-catching! I did not want t o join other/more social media platforms. However, I am glad that I have added more! Filmmakers, Editors, Influencers, and more are doing the most! So am I! From short films and more!

Toy, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

I have always loved the entertainment industry! I am truly a renaissance woman 180! I love dance, music, art, photography, writing, theatre etc., I am a two-time Author! Why Compromise Your Soul? along with My Soul To Keep which both can be found on Amazon, BookRix, Google Books & Barnes & Nobles (e-books) I am a videographer, Editor, Filmmaker along with Photographer! I am a huge lover of being apart of the influencers of Creative Content.

My experience in the entertainment industry have been working in the music industry when there truly was A&R. Talent Requisition along with promotions and a VP Executive. I have also worked in pre-production. Going to one of my sites MP Entertainment one can see my experience in the business since 2001 and major networks I worked with.

On my Just Toy Taking Pictures website, I not only take photos of clients. I also sell my photo art that can be placed in homes, businesses etc. Just Toy Written Expression is my site where my books, writings and poems can be read. Also more information about my books.

With MP Entertainment (Malicious Pleasure Entertainment) I work with small businesses and large entities in my consulting. I work on branding, promotions, advertising, marketing, social media marketing, promotional advertisements that can be placed on websites and social media platforms. I also build websites.

I am always open to learning and coming with creative ways to not only promote my business along with others.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?

In my journey of creativity, my goal and mission is to broaden awareness of what we can do to make ourselves more visible! My mission is to blend all of the things that I am a lover of in the arts and open up the inner standing of how the arts can not only be historic. But bring light to how the arts assist so many on so many levels. Children, senior citizens, children who are motivated and excited when they are creative. It places fears at ones feet, opens the perception for one to find their niche in their own creativity. It is soothing, it assists those whom are ill, depressed. The arts captures ones attention. That can be on many levels! I feel the arts exerts feelings that one may not know they have unless it is introduced to them.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?

In 2015, this was a pivoting moment of my life. I never saw myself personally as a photographer! Not at all! It was a moment in my life where I would take photos of myself and of others that was not something I wanted to pursue. However, in 2015, it was my daughter Genesis along with my partner (and others) that loved my photography! I was even complimented by other photographers giving compliments too!

With that being said. In 2020 I went live with Just Toy Taking Pictures and started taking photos of my surroundings. These were also the photos that received great accolades! I will be having two gallery showings! My photography exudes life, history, statements. Thoughts. I am now listed it Duns & Bradstreet and have made my Photography a legit business attaining my LLC. Bigger things that are in talk are coming! I am uber excited!!!
