We recently connected with Tosha Chavez and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Tosha thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Any thoughts around creating more inclusive workplaces?
I think creating a more inclusive wedding industry is on ongoing process that requires active listening, continuous learning and a commitment to making positive changes. I like to foster inclusivity by promoting diversity within my marketing and advertising, educating myself with the challenges faced by marginalized groups within the wedding industry and beyond, as well as creating inclusive policies that prohibits discriminatory behavior.
I had a strong focus on inclusivity when I started my business because growing up I saw the mistreatment of underrepresented youth + people with disabilities, hate crimes against minority communities and the overall disdain people had for others that didn’t fit in the box of what they thought someone should look or act like.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Hey, Hi and Hello! I’m Tosha, pronounced just like, Tasha. I am a wedding and elopement planner that specializes in intimate and detailed weddings. I started my business in 2019 and went full time at the end of 2022. I provide full service wedding planning, wedding management and design services for weddings and elopements.
It seems like I have always been learning one facet or another that’s related to the wedding and event industry! In 2017, I started out in wedding catering, then I moved to bartending for large weddings, WSU home games and intimate house events. After a couple years of that I started event planning for celebrations like birthdays and graduations and did an internship with CSF and WSU to host small events to help bring underrepresented youth a chance to foster community. Following graduation I went on to learn wedding flowers for about a year and a half while working as a wedding venue coordinator. All of this ultimately lead to my success while wedding planning. I still have a lot to learn but this gave me such a great foundation to start off on.
I truly enjoy finding what makes my clients relationships unique and making those stories and inside jokes the highlight of their wedding! This is how we really tailor an event and leave the guests feeling like, wow that is SO “Kinzie and Josh”!
We are always so grateful for the area we live in, to our clients trusting in us and the amazing vendors we get to work with!

How did you build your audience on social media?
I built my audience on social media by trying to cultivate organic relationships with others that aligned with my brand, values and voice in areas that I wanted to service. I steered away from generic comments and sending ingenuine messages, and instead worked on showcasing what I can provide in an authentic way to attract potential and current clients but also for vendors in the industry.

How do you keep your team’s morale high?
I would say to always try to focus on being grateful, kind and flexible with your employees. I try to lead by example and have the best attitude I can while training or communicating expectations effectively! I encourage you to foster not only a collaborative environment where everyone feels comfortable but one where they are also recognized for their achievements!
