We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Tory Scroggins. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Tory below.
Hi Tory, thanks for joining us today. Let’s jump to the end – what do you want to be remembered for?
I want my legacy to be the lives that I’ve touched and the people that I have inspired. When I’m gone I want people to say if Tory could do that then so can I. I want to be remembered for my bravery in taking chances on myself.

Tory, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
After a few years of being a brand ambassador for several nail polish brands and being a nail polish lover I am finally this year launching my own brand vicTORYus nail polish. I’ve collaborated in the design of a few limited edition colors for other brands and in that process I discovered that I have a passion for being a part of the process from beginning to end.
Nail polish for me has been such a liberating form of expression and an unbinding of societal pressures to fit in and conform. And I am a proud proponent of non conformity.
I think self expression is one of the most powerful things in the world and painting your nails is one of the best ways to do that. I love it when people see my nails and are inspired to polish their own. Even some of the most masculine guys I know.
My colors are going to be bold and expressive and will help to bring some color to a sometimes dull world.

How did you build your audience on social media?
Social media has been so important in the journey of starting this brand in so many ways. I started posting pictures of my painted nails which led to brands following me as well as influencers who swatch and review nail polish and before I knew it I was a part of a community.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I credit social media with whatever reputation I have as someone people would want to buy nail polish from. Through my social media posts people have been able to see the journey that led to this venture.
I started out painting my nails because I found it was easier than cutting them.
