Hi Torin, thanks for joining us today. What do you think it takes to be successful?

One of the key components to my success has been authenticity. I think that being authentic in your profession lays the groundwork for success and will attract those that appreciate your uniqueness. At the beginning of my photography career, I remember feeling like my work had to look a certain way to be acknowledged. As time went on and I started promoting my work publicly, all the positive feedback made me realize that I didn’t have to change who I was creatively, to be supported.

Torin, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

My name is Torin Hollis, professional photographer born and raised in Memphis, TN. About 9 years ago, I chose to separate from the military (Army) to pursue a photographer career. Shortly afterwards, I moved to Nashville, TN and attended Nossi College of Art & Design. During my time in school, I freelanced and worked on building a portfolio I was proud of. August 2019, I graduated with a Bachelor of Graphic Arts degree in Commercial Photography. February 2022, I moved to Las Vegas, NV, where I currently reside, seeking more advanced career opportunities as a freelancer. Fashion and portraiture are my specialties, and my portfolio is categorized into Digital, Film(35mm), and Polaroid images.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?

My most effective strategies for growing my clientele have been creating ads on social media and pitching my portfolio to potential clients.
